Water logged foam in frame ?

Thats interesting. It’s the first time I’m hearing it got extended beyond 2003 officially.

Reminds me of well several well-intending newbies on the Skoolie forums that would suggest dealing with window leaks by putting a sponge in there before walling it up.
Thankfully the seasoned veterans would call out why you don't want to do that.

Part of me thinks this is just a dumb luck situation, whether people got a well-to-do service tech that thought leaving a sponge in there would "help suck up any water so it doesn't rust".

 

Thanks for posting these, I learned something new.
When I saw the coating in my front frame rails I thought that was the "treatment" that disqualified me from a frame replacement. But the treatment for the "service campaign" was done to the rear portions of the frame.
I got excited for a minute. Who knows if they got it treated early on, my service records only go back to 2012. Seems like if they did the front rails doing the rear would have been part of that, but It's not visible if they did...

I'm not jacking up on hopium though

 

I got my truck and went over it with a fine tooth comb, the TSB for frame was checked, but nothing was done.

Mine didnt get anything done, they checked it out and let it go. Sucks cause if they had sprayed them all it might have prevented rust down the line on many vehicles that rusted out.
