They put sand on all the bridges before the big freeze where Texas grid failed a few years back. I don't recall how long I waited to wash my undercarriage. Maybe a few days after. Didn't notice anything out of the ordinary surface rust. But I take it sand isn't as bad.

Sand isn’t going to cause an issue with rust. You should see how bad cars/trucks get in Ohio. Whole frames turn bright orange after one winter.

Unfortunately it’s not cheaper than brine so we’ll never see that getting used here.

Up here they will occasionally make "hot" batches (salt loads) for the mains/first attentions. You think salt is bad, wet it with some liquid calcium chloride :eek2:
On an overcast day salt stops working around 20-23deg. The least little amount of sun helps a lot though, and traffic.

Been busy loading up on projects the last couple of months. Bought this C10 for a song. Came with a Yukon XL as a package deal. In @shifty` and @JasonC. 's honor.

Yeah, it was 28 and overcast all day. It eventually wore off on the main roads.

Oh, and we didn't have any road prep this time. All our trucks got sent to DFW to help those pansies.

Edit: NVM I just saw the C10

That Yukon engine would be sick in that c10, especially if it's the 6.0L

Is their such a thing as a HVAC fan upgrade for our 1st gens? The 2nd gen guys are using the Land Cruiser (200 series) fan for an upgrade. The 200 series fan is brushless, which they claim is quitter.

When we were in Helsinki, Finland, they used crushed gravel. No salt. All vehicles are required to have snow tires. There were no wrecks or issues. Even the buses were navigating the hills.

Second morning with the new battery. First crank goes Ziiing, lmao. Second regular start. First time ever hearing the selinoid not kick in.
And then on my commute to work I notice a bit over 50mph on the speedometer the needle was acting a little erratic
This thing may end up pushed up into the tree row at our new property.... bitch.

Hell yeah! Good patina. Great color. That would make an awesome sled, and with very little work.

Yeah, there’s been chatter about it on here, but I think people were talking about j120 fans, not the 200. I mean, if you really wanna know on fitment, order one of the cheap cheap cheap ones on scAmazon or fleaBay and check it out for fitment, flex that return if it doesn’t fit. Bezos ain’t gonna miss that $$. Take advantage of that whopper Prime fee and what it’s become.

Tried talking to my brother-in-law that’s not far from me at all but we couldn’t make it work in “frequency mode”. Any idea why that might be?

Also remember you all using a # like 58 or something. How do I do that?

    Thanks!

Cell phone reception isn’t great at times and want to be prepared just in case. Sister text me last night about them maybe having to evacuate at gave me a general location to meet in case cells were down. Can’t have that now lol

I wonder if that could be related to the battery, such as a corroded ground cable?

If there were Any hesitation or slower crank I would be on board with that, but when it engages it's turning it over faster than I've ever heard it before.

You'll both have to be on the same frequency. The radio can use two different frequencies at once, that is what the A/B button is for. The little arrow pointing down will tell you that you're editing the B frequency. When you're in frequency mode and the radio is unlocked, you should be able to punch in a frequency. For your circumstance, I'd probably just plug the same frequency into both A and B on both radios. You're going to be communicating via simplex so I'd just pick a random frequency that isn't active. Maybe 151.550?

I don't use that exact radio often so I can't remember if it has two transmit buttons, or if you have to press the A/B button to choose whether you transmit over frequency A or B.

The 58 was probably part of the frequency we used at the time.

Here's a list of the frequencies in LA you probably don't want to communicate on: https://www.radioreference.com/db/browse/ctid/201
