    There is definitely arson involved.

Adam Corolla has an epic rant on what's going to happen after the fires, and he's not wrong.

Hope all you SoCal folks are well.

90% chance that we're closing for the next 2 days. It sucks for money reasons, but I'll be happy to be home.

It's already happening here with the hurricanes. Now some are pulling it off the area too

I sort of wonder how many inches of snow a roof down south not built for it will hold before it collapses.

I’m guessing the work truck is 2wd. Well at least you can practice sliding into turns.

I’ve always wondered this. Not sloped enough either, so it would just stack up. These houses down here are woefully poor at handling sub freezing temps. If it’s 20 for 3 or 4 days there are broken water pipes everywhere. It’s kinda ridiculous.

I don’t know how y’all handle this crap up north. I can handle 2 months straight of 100+. Freezing for a week and I’m done.

Shit, I'm just happy at not having to worry about the salt on the roads and rusty undercarriages every year for months on end.

Up here you either evacuate the pipe of water or let it drip/lightly stream continuously of cold water if it’s exposed enough to the cold. Thankfully most houses have basements so the pipes come in below the freeze line.

You also want to watch out for ice dams on your roof or you’ll get water damage in your walls/ceiling.

2wd indeed. I turned the TC off for some mad drifto shenanigans. You simply breathe on the gas pedal and you're sideways. I left the VA and did a Tokyo drift all the way across the Blvd to turn left. It was great.

I am visiting my son, that is in Grad school at UT, in Austin TX right now and it is only raining. Not even hard. My younger son flew home to AZ today and his flight through DFW was cancelled yesterday. He was able to reschedule and made it home fine. I am supposed to fly out of DFW tomorrow night with my father and hopefully it will all be cleared up by then.

I remember in the mid-ish 80s in Arlington when we got a good couple inches of fluff. People lost their f'n minds. Was living in a neighborhood just off Mineral Springs Rd. Fun times.

Man, I had to cut thru SE ATL earlier today dropping one of the kids off at their music teacher's house. ATL DPW / DWM has a big presence down there, right next to the C.H.A.R.M recycle spot. I guess it's where they keep all the trucks because they've got about 1"-2" thick of salt in every damn direction from the exit of that place. The only road I remember the name of is Englewood, and Englewood is COVERED in salt, edge to edge. Like, way more than you could possibly ever need. Wild.

They used whatever the blue stuff is, looks like designer meth or something. But so many cars have driven over it and pulverized it that it's white as can be. Saw lots of pulvo salt today on the interstate today while getting the wife from the airport. She's grateful she booked coming back from CES today, not tomorrow.

Yeah we let stuff drip, but nothing is really insulated very well. And we got no basements.

Why are you flying from Austin to DFW? Why not drive? It's only 3 hours.
