What have you done to your NOT 3rd Gen Tundra today?

If I had a budget for more payload I'd be going power wagon all day. These things look so good imo

 

I doubt those have more payload than your truck.

 

Power Wagons are really nice . There’s 4 of them in my neighborhood now .

 

Rebel has like 1550-1770 depending on options and whatnot. Turns out the power wagon is about the same as the tundra.

 

Up in the 51st state, you can get a 3/4 ton Power Wagon Trim. We were looking at the Cummins options during our search for a replacement truck and saw one. I would think the payload on a 3/4 ton would be in around 2,500 lbs.?

 

This is what I thought, a quick search gives lots of numbers anywhere from 1700 and change up to 2 tons. Tell me I'm good for over 3000 then in the next sentence it's only 1730. If I was told 3k and loaded 3k into my truck rated for 1730 I could see breaking some stuff real quick.

 

For some reason I thought even the 2500 PW was lacking in payload.

 

According to the post above it looks like you are correct! 1,730 lbs is less than my buddies F150.

1730 is just over what I'm hauling in the tundra with zero issues. Not even so much as a leaky shock *knocks in wood* yet

 

My 1 ton has a payload of 3,810 lbs. I would think that the 3/4 tons would be around 3,000 lbs just by the nature of the beast. Even with the Power Wagon trim, you would think it is still up there for capacity??

 

Doubt it. Suspension systems that are built for off roading have shitty load carrying capacities.

 

They have to compromise capacity for flex. Same reason my tundra is still stock height tbh.

I had one but now it is someone else's toy. I started my Toyota journey with a 2022 Tundra and here I am today with SOB (some other brand). I still have all those fond memories which I get to keep

For gods sake zilla, take the Cheerios off that thing, put some tires on it and at least try to make look like a truck.

We'll see. Ferd did a dumb thing with the wheel liners up front (rubs at full lock in reverse) and I think a larger tire will make the issue worse. I am, and always have been, averse to trimming.

Maybe a slight upsize if I can find a way to correct their sloppy design.

What did you do to the speakers? I have the Bose speakers too.

 

I didn't like how muddy the system sounded. It almost sounded like I was listening to the system behind a thin sheet of glass. I'm no audiophile...but I just didn't like what I heard in the truck.

Either way, the bose system are 2ohm speakers, so I looked around to find something close. I replaced mine with 3ohm speakers.

I believe it. I'm on a PC at work now instead of my phone and it looks much better just from that. I'll have to keep an eye out, because I like most of Toyota's non metallics.
