Powered by the head unit. I had a separate wiring harness that I had to take out that installed when I did the front camera. Honestly I was a little surprised I didn’t expect it to work but it did.

Anyone have any idea on why I’m getting that refuel notification?

Thanks gents, That's what I was hoping for!
The camera I bought is slightly different than the diagrams I have seen. I'm not sure what to do with the red wire that's coming out of the camera connector. I'm assuming this wire is to connect to a brake light positive wire, when used as a rear cam? And hopefully doesn't need a separate 12v source as a front camera?

Yes the camera will need power, but my camera RCA plug had a red wire too but it was connected to anything and still works.
Let me see if I can find the diagram here that I used on this forum to install it.

For the life of me I can’t find the speaker fade. Any guidance is appreciated. Also where did everyone install the aftermarket mic from Enfig car stereo?

I'm not sure on the settings as I haven't installed my HU yet. But I did install the enfig mic the other day, it snaps right into the factory location in the over head console. I was able to keep the factory mic stored above the console too. Doubt I'll ever need it, but I'd lose it otherwise. Not the greatest video, but you get the idea.

Every red wire on the camera harnesses can be used to power the camera. But you only need to use one. The camera power line is routed to multiple points in the harness (via red wire) so that you can connect power where it is most convenient for your installation. If you do a continuity check between the various red power wires you'll see that they are all interconnected.

So in your case, if you have power connected via the red wire at the RCA end of the extension harness, then you won't need to connect the red power wire coming out of the camera connector. However, you will still need to connect the black wire from that connector to a good chassis ground. Sometimes the camera will "function" without the ground wire connected, because some manufacturers tie the power and video grounds together in the harness. But relying on the video return path for electrical ground is a poor practice that can lead to intermittent camera operation and poor noisy video quality. Best practice is to provide a solid electrical ground as close to the power source as possible.

Hey guys, I'm considering getting the 8G 256 version. But my question is how does the HU stack up in extreme heat and cold? I live in TX so the summers here are brutal. My truck parks outside where inside temperatures can soar. Same goes for extreme cold. It will drop in the lower 20s tonight so curious on how it hold up in cold as well. Appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

I purchased the G13 Dasaita Android Head unit for my 2018 Tundra Platinum with JBL. Specifically, this one:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CP39NX1Y?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Fit and finish were great, and I loved the new screen and CarPlay, except I had an issue, I could could hear a hiss/static when there was sound playing and the volume was quiet, like when a music track or podcast first comes on without sound. If you listened carefully while there was sound too, you could make out the hiss.

Some people might not notice, but I am sensitive to that kind of stuff, and it was driving me insane. I looked on the forums here and reddit to find a cure, with no luck. I tried to adjust the internal amplifier gains in the factory menus, played with the DSP, no luck. I double checked the ground on the unit using a multi-meter, and it was perfect.

I was in a tough spot, and thought I'd have to make a tough choice to keep the unit and live with the hiss, or return it. I reached out to Dasaita via e-mail and they told me there is an additional harness to buy if I have an amplifer. They sent me the link to the page on the site, but it was double the price of the same harness on their Amazon store, so I purchased it from Amazon.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L6LLWNC?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

This cable harness can be purchased, and put inline with the harness that comes with the head unit. You connect the RCA cables to the ones coming out of the head unit, very simple.

Once this harness was installed, my his went away completely. It appears that its bypassing the internal amp on the head unit, and sending the unamplified signal to the JBL amp. I suppose another option could be to just eliminate the JBL amp by making a bypass harness, and power the car speaks with the head unit in some way, but that's a hell of a lot more work than getting this harness off Amazon and plug and play.

Just wanted to pass off for others learn, and hopefully find if they search for keywords.

Considering the Dasaita for my ‘21 TRD Pro, but looks like I need to also order the the amp bypass above and a mic adapter, or the Enfig mic. Does that sound right?
Also - is my only option to connect to CarPlay wirelessly? Or can I still connect to CarPlay via usb (my preference)?
I’ve posed this question to Dasaita but I figure y’all would be quicker/more helpful than an iPhone assembler in guanjiang province.

Did this actually improve the quality of your phone calls? I am a bit suspect this thing would do much for audio quality since its still an unamplified 3.5mm jack mic. No doubt it is much cleaner to not have an external mic visible, but just curious if it helps audio quality. I installed numerous mics on my wife's Highlander that has an aftermarket Android radio (six of them!) and none of them had a significant improvement in the quality from what was included with the head unit.

Now that I fixed the hiss on my G13 in my Tundra, really the only weak link is the audio quality from the mic on calls. I have the Dasaita provided mic up on the A-pillar, so its a similar distance from my head than the mount in the stock location.

Sorry, I am confused why you need the microphone adapter from Dasaita, when the harness that comes with the G13 in the box already has a 3.5mm jack input on it? Does this add a second input? Why is it needed?

You absolutely do not need the microphone adapter... I bought one based on what I read previously in this thread, only to find out during the install on Friday that there was one in the Dasaita box. Sorry for the incorrect info!

I can't compare the Enfig mic to the provided one from Dasaita as I never installed it. I just installed the HU on Friday, and it seems to be on par or better than the stock mic I had with the stock HU. Of course, this is only based on what my wife tells me from the other end of the call.

T-Mobile has a digits only SIM that allows you to use the apps on the head unit for $10 / mo and so far it's worth it for me. I watch YouTube TV and it looks awesome

Hey guys, just got the unit, love it. Couple of questions though, have any of you have a solution for extra dimming the screen at night? I was able to get access to the accessibility settings and add the extra dimming shortcut to the home screen, but was wondering if there is a better way of doing instead of manually toggle it. Also can this unit pick up digital radio stations like stock did? Thank you
