_no_name_, I sure hope me and you aren't the only 3rd Gen long bed owners out there. I'm actually looking for long bed 3rd Gen owners that may be interested in a Softopper. I've been in contact with the company out of Louisville, CO and they just don't have enough inquiries yet to produce the model. Maybe this thread and our photos can generate some interest. If indeed there are any interested parties, please let me know...!

Hey Charles... the pictures of both the grey truck and my black one are 8'. I believe Toyota technically calls them 8.1' Anyway, I just need more bed in a truck. The 6.5's still just aren't' enough for me. Wish there were more of us.

@Mescalin, will their standard 8' not fit? Here's one on mine. The gap behind the cab is annoying but it works.

Thanks @JRS. The thing I'm trying to verify though is the Softopper for a Gen 3 long bed. I've actually heard of one other user in Colorado that said he managed to install a 2020 Softopper long bed version onto his Gen 3 with (maybe slightly different clamps). So any info on this is what I'm seeking... Yours looks great. That cab gap doesn't bother me.

That's why I posted. If memory serves correctly, while I ordered using their dropdown of 2G Tundra, you can see it's not a good fit. I think the packaging, or somewhere, made it seem like it was a general purpose 8' topper. The supplied clamps are C-shape and should be general purpose. Is there not a lip on the composite bed under the bedside rail that's giving you pause?

Indeed what you've described as the lack of the lip under the top of bed is a concern. I do have the rails and of course would hope to utilize that specific rail clamp which looks like Softopper makes. I did suspect you may be referring to more of a general 8 foot Softopper model, but I didn't know that may exist. I'll definitely look more into that, although I am hesitant to get into something that just doesn't fit quite right. That said, I also see you've mentioned yours is not a good fit, but it sure looks pretty good to me from your picture. What else is it that you don't like about yours aside from the gap to the cab you've mentioned...?

I like it aside from the rear cab gap. It has a slight leak up front I couldn't eliminate, but that's a known issue with these, and I didn't spend a tremendous amount of time trying to make it 100% waterproof. The only other issue is the rear vinyl panel clouded up pretty quickly, even with vinyl cleaners/conditioners. I keep the rear panel rolled up now unless there's a need to have it down.

Would prefer a hard topper but there are times I need to load oversized objects and/or use forks.

About to seal a deal on a 2019 SR5 LB, does anyone know of an exhaust system that sounds similar to the TRD Pro exhausts but it's for the long bed? Eventually I want to supercharge it but a nice exhaust with the v8 is something I'd spend money on.

Also is there more space underneath for a larger gas tank on the long beds in theory?

If you plan on supercharging, I'd hit up dirty deeds for a full headers back exhaust.

There's plenty of space for the LRA 46 gallon tank.

New member. Just picked up a 2015 SR5 4wd. Let the mods begin! I'm hoping I can fit 35s right now and do the suspension in a month or so

These are 12ft sticks. Can't imagine having a 6.5ft bed or even *gasp* a 5.5ft bed. Never regretted getting this train! :yay:
