not digging the IO tent? I’ve heard so many mixed opinions in it.

 

for what it is, it’s great. It’s so light & simple. But I’m getting older & im almost 6’ tall so I’m just over tent camping with the whole fam. I’m ready for a small pop up a liner trailer. Not dogging the tent. It’s great but has its limitations

Yeah, but he's up here in the balmy PNW; and quite often he can be seen navigating icy and snowy back roads, helping other drivers who have found themselves stuck in poor conditions, and even braving the cold water temps of the northern pacific ocean while harvesting crab from the local piers...

All conditions that can make for cold hands and thus getting into the cab of this Tundra and wrapping his hands around a warm steering wheel would be an appropriate and welcoming luxury.

 

I think the white knuckling he does eliminates the need. He’s not your normal psychopath.

Putting this out there for any of you 3D printer type folks that have the capability to scan an area and print out the final product to see if any of you would be interested in creating something for me and maybe others w/similar frustrations...

I'm looking to plug that damn phone holder or whatever you want to call it in the center console lid w/a solid piece of plastic that I can either plastic weld in or attach w/adhesive strips so it don't slide around. Since I've had my '21, I'vd hate that damn thing and would prefer if Toyota would have left it solid like they did in my '08 or the later model Sequoias.

If interested, please PM me details, but I'm basically looking for the piece to be solid and once inserted to sit flush w/the rest of the hard plastic on the console. So, not necessarily level w/the padding of the console as I'd imagine that would be more difficult to create clean lines.

I replaced mine with a magnetic phone charger that uses power from the 12v outlet on the backside of the console.Plug n play

 

It's clumsy and uncomfortable when you're trying to hold hands with your wife.

 

This is really annoying now that you mention it - nothing really fits well in there and it just sits there breaking up the surface and its utility.

Is there any chance the Sequoia lid might be a drop in replacement? Not familiar with their center consoles.

I believe I looked into this a while back and the Sequoia lid would require replacement of the whole lower part of the console assembly, etc...

 

Yeah, I bought one, but it's essentially hollow and meant for storage (the lid opens)....

I just want the entire piece to be solid and be able to bear whatever weight/impact my dogs might bring getting in and out of the truck.
