    Too many mods to come

Or could be pushing and finding the limits of the platform. Big hp comes at a cost that I’m prepared to pay lol same for big travel

The alternator is a pain in the ass to change. It took me 5 hours and I have a car lift.

My take is if you're not going to mess with it much or at all, and want a more stock look get the Maggy.

If you want to mess with it more or want to show it off, Whipple. It has a more distinctive look that even non car people would go, yup that's a supercharger

Which one? You got the 1900, 2650 Maggie's, 2.9 whip and the harrop 2.65. Imo cant go wrong with any all dependent on your application and goals.

    Yeah I browsed through those.
I'll have to go back and do some more reading.
I'm really looking for peoples experiences of the various brands and whether they're happy with them.
I do know I never had a problem with my TRD Blower in my Tacoma years back and they were made by Magnuson.

If you list your priorities in order that could help narrow it down. If you prioritize reliability like it sounds I personally favor those using Eaton rotor packs (Magnuson and Harrop). Do you prefer upflow (Magnuson) or downflow (Harrop and Whipple.) Are you a set it and forget it kind of person, or a tinker with additional mods person?

This is probably the best short response here. Depends on your application and goals. There is no wrong answer. They’re all very capable and proven blowers. Plenty of manu and community support on all. Just comes to your preference really. Whichever you choose, everyone on here will help you make poor financial decisions and you’ll end up buying more modifications for more power than you originally anticipated. Again- no wrong answer…besides staying N/A. That. That is the only wrong answer.

Yeah....I hate making a decision on stuff like this!!
You buy what you think is best for your needs only to find out it's not.
Definitely not something you want to make a mistake on.
Unless of course you're made of money....

Yeah but that’s kind of the gist of most responses here, there is no mistake to make. You literally can’t go wrong. You’re going to be happy no matter that you choose.

Pick the one that’s in stock lol

I wouldn't consider any one of the options you pick as a mistake. Only one Id say is somewhat limited would be the Maggie 1900. Once you start turning it with a small ass pulley you may create a good amount of heat and get close to not being so efficient. Stock form all options are great imo!

So good news update, replaced all the idlers and tensioner too. As the stethoscope indicated the main problem was definitely the cross over idler which spinning it in my hand sounds like a childs bike bell. I had to remove a small 10mm nut to get enough clearance to get the bolt out of that idler (pic below). The tensioner idler had a slight sound vs the silent replacement. Once I got everything back together and turned on the sound was gone. The engine itself is definitely noisy. It’s really bizarre that the Toyota techs couldn’t figure this whining sound out lol, they were about to remove the whole supercharger and send it off to rebuild it (under warranty).

Go American. All are reliable... easiest and support is maggy...1900 for towing et Al , 2650 for slightly more efficiency, Harrop also is good, but not American made...Whipple is glitz, glam, power awesomeness... at it and forget it, I'd go maggy...pure personal opinion

Yeah...I'm leaning that way because of my experience with the TRD Blower.
It never gave me a problem.

For that alone, if you’re 100% sure you never want a smaller pulley with more power the magnuson kit is the most complete and is the way to go. I don’t think you can buy the 1900 anymore so that’s kind of off the table. If you want to play with it then the benefit of the completeness of the Magnuson kit with the pump and injectors goes out the window since they are insufficient.

I had a similar problem with the idler pulley in my Tacoma and I was 300 miles from home.
It screeched the entire way home.
Cant remember the price to replace it but it was ridiculous!!
I made my own aluminium pulley and pressed in a high grade German bearing and never had another problem with it.
    I love being a machinist!!
In most cases I can make a better part than stock.
The only issue I ever ran into is finding the proper dimensions.
More than once I bought the new part and made a drawing of it and returned the unused part.
That was back in my younger years when money was tight.

    @snivilous meet @Tundra Texan , @Tundra Texan meet @snivilous

You may now be inundated by requests for parts. I'll start: a 7.375" x 1.25" delrin or hard poly cylinder, hollowed out like a cup.

    Just kidding.

But I have drawings if you aren't kidding...

I can make my own pulleys easy enough.
    To late.
    I already retired.
If I had to I could use my Buddies machine where he works but I dont think management would let me get away with running a Sh!tload of parts!!
If I didnt give them a cut anyway.

The pulleys themselves are inconsequential between brands, they all have smaller and larger options you may need already available. The fuel system needed to run a smaller pulley is the deciding factor. A smaller pulley requires 650cc injectors and a 340lph pump, neither of which come in the magnuson kit.
