first pic attached is my current UCA clearance with 33x12.50x18s with 18” factory tss wheels (+50 offset)

Second pic is a test fit I did with 35x12.50x18 (toyo at3) again with 18”factory tss wheels (+50 offset)
and we couldn’t even get the wheel on the hub..

With the new Method 17x8.5” I would be decreasing my offset by 0.591” (going +50 to +35) so I would like to think that a 35x12.50x17 (toyo at3) would fit on these new Method wheels and NOT rub the UCA.

Wondering if anyone is running this exact wheel and tire size combo and can vouch for UCA clearance?

The only other offset Method offers in this wheel is 0 and that’s too much poke for my liking (don’t want to add flares)

    Thanks

I’m glad you asked. Yes, +35 worked for 35x12.50 Toyo AT3s. The only place I rub is the front sway bar and it’s really only when turning on un-even surfaces/terrain. I truly do believe +25 is the absolute best offset for accommodating large tires for our trucks.

Nice did you need a body mount chop? I already ordered the wheels with 35x12.5 Toyo rt trails . I just did the bumper spacer but waiting on wheels and tires to show up.

Would you mind posting pics? I just ordered +35 Method 703's. Currently have TRD lift and 0 offset Nomad's and hate the amount of poke at 0. Hoping +35 corrects it.

    Thanks!

did you have similar issues? Trying to determine if +25 or +35 is best / ideal for the Gen 2 / 2.5 Tundra

    thank you

+25 is the best. Least rubbing, least modifications necessary to clear larger tires, especially 12.5” wide, but unfortunately some wheel manufacturers, like Method, don’t offer a 17” wheel with +25, only +35.

Yeah, my apologizes. It’s been a while since I’ve looked. Looks like you do have a 17” wheel with a 25mm offset option in both of those wheels. However, one is a 8” wide wheel and other is 7.5” wide. IMO, that’s really pushing it if you plan on running a 12.5” wide tire. I would be really cautious/hesitant. Of course the tire manufacturer will dictate the minimum wheel width size required to run said tire, but you’re going to have significant tire bulge from a wheel that narrow. I’m currently running 35x12.50s on a 17x8.5 wheel and have a lot of bulge, I believe it’s caused excessive outer edge tire wear.

Great advice and thank you for sharing. Immensely helpful. All this wheel / tire modification discussion is new to me. First time migrating past stock. These are the tires I’ve been eyeballing - mostly light, around 60lbs and in the 34.5”-35” range. To be able to run any of the below the rim width would have to be a minimum of 8.5”. That cuts my personal list down to
    • Method Race Wheels 305, 703, & 705
    • Icon Vehicle Dynamics Compression & Rebound
If I may, I’m not sure I understand what you mean by bulge due to the narrow aftermarket wheel. Appreciate the insight / explanation

Those are all solid tires. The edge wear from the tire bulge is purely my own experience. Maybe someone else can chime in. Look at the bottom of my tire in the top pic. Notice how it bulges out. Not the best representation but the bulge is more extreme at times depending on what I’m driving on or how the truck is parked. Of course tire pressure plays a factor, but I’ve chalk tested at 35 psi cold, so that’s what I run with. More pressure would likely decrease the bulge some. Pair that bulge with high spirited driving and turns and it’s caused me edge wear. Again, this is only my experience but I have heard this happening with other people.
