Gents, I just installed the G13 this weekend in my 2018 Platinum, which came with the JBL. I love the look but I have a slight problem with the audio. There is a slight hiss when audio is playing (mainly tested with CarPlay). It is very noticeable when you are at the end of a song and beginning of another, you will hear the hiss, then dead quiet between the songs, and then when the second song starts you hear the hiss come in. So its not constant, only when there is audio output.

Things I have tried:

• I made sure to use the ground wire during the install, its currently grounded to one of the four bolts that mount in the radio.
• I have played with the settings on the unit, including disabling the "loudness" function in the equalizer, as well as enabling it and trying various settings.
• I have gone into the factory settings menu, and changed the amp gain from the factory 0dB to various settings, all the way down to -15dB and this doesn't fix it. I can tell its adjusting the gain though, because the max volume on the radio changes signficantly when I do this.

Any more thoughts guys? I am really hoping to fix this.

 

Thank you for the links. Santa dropped off my Dasaita g13 this morning. I don't see a g13 mic adapter on Dasaita's web site. Will the g12 one work? I also see some people are buying adapters to use they factory gps antenna opposed to the one that comes with the head unit. What does the gps antenna actually do? I'm wondering if that's something I'd actually need? I don't use XM or anything like that. Thank you for any input gents

I only have the rear camera that works when the truck is in reverse

 

Well...we got trouble...unit was working perfectly and I love it...however...rode to a friends house everything worked fine...started truck up to leave and black screen with no lights on the unit working...turned truck off and on and NOTHING!!!! Where do I begin to troubleshoot???

 

Start by checking the fuse to the unit then maybe pull it out and check the power wire

 

Well...I tried the little reset button...pushed it for about 5 seconds and the lights flashed and the unit reset and worked on my drive to Academy and back...we shall see!

 

So it definitely has power

 

My experience with Dasaita is they’re very buggy. I switched to Joying and at least the one I have seems to be more solid.

Yours probably got locked up in boot up or something. Glad the reset button worked!

 

Just bought this unit and it’s on its way. I have front and rear cameras on my truck, does the unit come with all adapters to connect both cameras or do I need to buy something extra?

 

Yes, they come with RCA connectors for front/rear cams

I have a platinum so it has the JBL system. Based on so many pages I also need to order of these adapters? Is that correct?

 

Installed the Enfig mic in the overhead slot and added the SIM card to my Dasaita Android 13

 

I just ordered these same 2 items. I don't think it is model trim specific, but an upgrade to any Dasaita head unit. Based on the reading I have done, seems like it would be worth the purchase. I should receive them by the end of the week then I can finally install my G13 head unit.

 

Me too, received headunit yesterday and still waiting on these two items. Not sure how long it takes from China, bit I will be patiently waiting

No I ordered an adapter for the mic .The unit comes with it's own GPS antenna which works fine

 

I haven't had a chance to install the adapter. I have been using CarPlay/iPhone. And, it's much better than the old head unit. So, I am in no rush. I have been installing new headlights and taillights. So, I've been working on a hyper-flash issue. But, I am impressed with this new head unit and I am sure I haven't even scratched the surface of what it can do. The stereo was a 100% upgrade and it sounds SO much better. I recently replaced my puddle lights and license plate lights with LEDs and now when I hit the brake the head unit goes into dark mode. So, I am troubleshooting that as well.

ive been thinking about getting a new HU and its between this as most people get it or a tesla style (no company or brand specific).
my thing is i have XM and all i use for music unless traveling sometimes ill play cds or use an old ipod. also use nav.
so main question is does it HAVE to be connected via carplay etc to even use apps like nav and xm? i dont like having to connect my phone to my truck.

Got it installed! Have a few hiccups that I’m still working on.

1. Additional Cables - I ordered the two cables that everyone was speaking about, it when I opened the radio box I already had one in there! Ugh, guess I should have looked first. I double checked that it is the exact same as the one I ordered.

2. Cam-bus - I didn’t have to switch out the cam-bus since both sets came with one. My truck is a 2018, so I used CB004.

3. Grounding - I’ll be honest it took me awhile to install it but it’s not that bad. I did have a little issue with installing the grounding on the back radio bolt, I had to crimp the grounding to keep it in place. It kept coming off.

4. Cameras - I had previous installed a front camera and I was able to connect it to the radio so both the front and rear cameras work.

5. Electric start - The previous owner installed an Automate model 7145A. It works fine, I know there were a few stating that electric start doesn’t work with the radio, but I have no issues.

6. Gray Cable - had a gray cable left over from the original radio and not sure where that goes. Any ideas?

7. Refuel Notification - not sure if anyone else has that notification, but I have never seen that before and I have 3/4 of a full tank. Any ideas on why?
