Spoke to the parts department at Serra just now. The order had shipped from their distribution center, but they hadn't received it to then ship out to me, so I was able to cancel. Ordered the Moog Inners from RA. They should be here thursday. Slap them in friday or saturday.

A little window chip repair with the Rain-X DIY kit. Pretty simple, stick the suction cup guide on, add the resin, insert the plunger and apply pressure to get the resin to infiltrate the chip. After removing the suction cup plunger apparatus, apply some topical and cover with the film provided. Then remove the film after 10min and scrape the excess off with the included razor blade. A little too cold to do it today, but did it anyway. Decent result, may repeat on a sunnier day.

Well I sent the Cobra CB back, couldn't get it to transmit, and replaced it with an Anytone AT-6666-PRO 10 meter/Export model (CB capable). Not finished testing it but so far so good. Ignore the rat's nest of wires, not going to tidy the wires until I'm finished testing the unit.

I did the Permatex one. It did a slightly better job. How much you pick out the hole, if applicable, and how much suction and pressure you use seems to help the result. I had to re-deposit some liquid on the hole and lay the patch down and cure with UV again, because I made the classic mistake of cutting the excess off. It takes it smoother to the glass if you hold the flat razor blade perpendicular to the glass and push back/forth with pressure. When I cut it out, it pulled epoxy out of the pit, I had to dig deep and reapply.

This is my son’s truck. He wanted full on hot boi seats and I talked him into these instead. They hold you in nicely. The thigh bolsters are not tall, so entering and exiting is easy. I have only driven/rode in it a few miles, but they are nice.

Soaked the new skid plate in WD-40 and mounted it back on the truck. Not easy when you need to bend the hangers a little when it’s coated in lubricant.

My hand is feeling so much better. I didn’t do anything to the tundra today because the shop is closed. However, last night the kids car started overheating. T-stat was stuck. So today I replaced the upper rad hose that blew off, replaced both t-stats, replaced the coolant temp sensor and obviously performed a coolant flush. The electric fan operates like it should (comes on at 215 and cuts off at 195). They should be good to go.

A little but nothing severe enough to warrant this. I did this cause I don't like how the stock flares look. That lip that comes down always bothered me.

UCAs and 6112s courtesy of 1st Gen Off-Road and Wheelers. Both of these items are easier on these trucks than 2nd or 3rd Gen Tacomas.

Btw, the O'Reilly BJ press just barely fits inside the wheel well. Castle nut on, and having three hands, and don't forget to remove the lock ring!

It's nice to see so much shiny on the front end of this truck since I did LBJs last week.

Pity I couldn't splurge for spindles while I was in there... With new tires, I still hear a mild howl at certain speeds, which I'm convinced is a hub and not tires nor needle bearing.

I took mine off because one of the bolts was stripped but does the stock skid plate have provisions for an oil change? I think I remember having to take it off every time which is kind of a pita that thing is heavy and I really don’t like cycling bolts over and over due to fatigue. Yes… I have ocd

need a ride report on the 6612s if you can. Need new suspension and seriously considering. Which notch did you go on those? Any pics of the whole truck? Nice work!

The most it has is a hole to drain the oil through the skid plate. For the filter, you need to remove it to change the filter.

I ditched mine on my 03. Weight reduction and easier oil changes.
Might've lost a little aerodynamics, but I think the bed cover and lowering the truck makes up for it.
