Hey guys quick question. installing a TRD kit on my 2013 tundra flex fuel. for flex fuel trucks you don't have to change injectors and fuel pump correct? thats what it says in the flex fuel truck manual. just wondering if anyone has any experience with this thanks in advance

Good deal on a head unit. They can also get the fit kit as well

 

This is me, I have ruined more cars with mods than I care to admit. The Sequoia blowing wherever it blew is 100% my fault.

 

The flex pump looked exactly like a walbro 450, don't know if it was the same. I posted a side by side way back somewhere in the thread

 

I have a 14 FFV and I had to upgrade the injectors to the 650s but the stock pump has been fine. BUT I did have long tubes and 3 inch exhaust.

Ok, I need a backstory on this now.

 

It’s a head unit you’ll need the fit kit which they can also source. My guess previous owner moved to the new 2650

 

Once upon a time, there was a lonely supercharger head unit, it lost it's parts and wandered looking for it's home.......

 

All it wanted for Christmas was a warm engine bay to call home...

 

I wish somebody would give it a home so it would stop whining…

 

Are you going to pull the valve cover first to see if there is a broken valve spring? Gotta be better than going straight to yanking the head off.

 

And a nice small pulley to keep it happy. May make it whine more...

 

With all the whine he grew thirsty so larger injectors and pump be had

 

I did, it looks fine, scoped it, one exhaust valve is burnt.

'18 70k Tundra motor is paid for, they said they would get it out of the truck today, I bet it is not delivered until Monday but it does not matter, the shop is slammed so won't get to it until the 31st which I am betting no one really does anything and I'm ok waiting until the holiday hangovers are overcome. I prefer to get clear-headed quality work I don't "need" it, I just want it.

That is a good deal. When I inquired Jon Bond about rebuilding the 1900 (2014) he said the build quality was sub par when it came to the rotors. The deviation of boost psi between the superchargers ranged from 1-3 psi. You'd get variation of a couple thousandths between rotors and sloppy bearings on some.

 

Later ones are better or they all have issues?

31-10146 afe dry filter, did ya'll notice any leeching from the rubber? recently picked one up and the rubber was a little oily, so think it might be old stock.

 

Yes. I should of stated the original TRD ones. It's cool there are more reputable shops that rebuild them. I know I probably am losing a bit of boost psi.

 

That's possible. I have 2 that I havee been swapping back and forth the past 8 years with no break down. Hate it when rubber/plastics start breaking down...
