Lots of milestones this week. I think it’s winter solstice day today 2024. Also my wife’s birthday today.

Daughter #2 also had her birthday earlier this week. Also, Thursday was her last day of public school, as she turned 21, so that’s it for extra innings in the district. We went to her small graduation ceremony and she got a certificate of achievement along with a small group of other students. The district superintendent was there to speak and that was commendable. Daughter started and finished school here, with unbelievable community support. We gave up a lot to move here, but it was worth it. We live a block away from her old elementary school and I used to pull her to school in a wagon every day, also sometimes in a snowtube. She knee walked until half way through the first grade. But a little peer pressure encouragement and she finally got up and slowly balanced herself into walking throughout most of the day. There are still a lot of basic things she can’t do, but every day is not terrible.

And it’s too warm here but I will take it, and gratefully no wind, plus a few nice clouds

Usyk vs Fury II was a good fight. I thought the judges got it right, with Usyk winning easy.

Be careful about just targeting sodium alone though... Having a balance of electrolytes is extremely important and require other minerals to be present to ensure proper absorbtion and use of the sodium (in a good way); otherwise we could all eat 1 pack of crap ramen a day and be solid

Heavy importance lies within the body having an appropriate amount of potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium and chloride; they are all super important to maintaining a proper PH balance in the system (which is what electrolytes are all about)...

Other good sources of eletrolytes include watermelon, avocado, yogurt, bananas, coconut water, promegrante juice, etc...

My kidney doctor said that adding salt to my diet wouldn't help my low sodium. Apparently my solid to liquid ratio is too low. He said eat a lot more, especially protein, salty foods won't help. He's also the first doctor that told me don't lose much more weight, especially quickly. Three months later I had lost 12 pounds, I didn't try and I don't know why. He was pissed.

Basically my instructions are eat more or drink less, and no, not just beer.

For reference my sodium has been 124 to 130 for at least the last three years.

Same here. I also was told not to add salt because I have high blood pressure.

The rainbow Christmas unicorn showed up for my daughter’s birthday earlier this week. I don’t know about this blow up stuff but it’s ridiculous enough that I’m ok with it.

I usually roll my personal stuff forward as soon as it’s available. Test for about 6 months before rolling my work machine forward so I can confirm compatibility with all our software before starting to roll forward our primary users. :notsure:

After quick reading - and not being a doctor - -

Her PCP sent her to the ER over sodium at 124 and after looking at sodium and a couple of different hormones she was diagnosed with SIADH. The only study I could find about salt tablets and SIADH concluded that salt tablets do make a difference, at least some. She's going to a nephrologist soon, although it's less likely she has a kidney problem as the primary cause. It's more likely other meds she has to take that are the cause, and those will get adjusted (or we'll find a dr. who knows what the fuck they're doing). I think it'll work out fine, but it sure is worrisome.

    I really appreciate the input.
