I did not have a JBL system. Just standard Toyota shit. Since then I've upgraded everything with Kicker KSS componet series and RF 4x500 amp for speakers and am now adding 2 Infinity Reference 12s powered by a RF 1200x1. When doing my tests this weekend prior to installing and mounting the subs. I hooked up the subs and amp to everything to test. Nothing was coming out of the amp for signal. But power and gounds remote were good. Had to go through the settings and on the Sony HU and noticed there are 2 sub options. One you can switch sub from stereo or mono. In Mono it didn't work, because I used RCA cables instead of a mono jack output this was facorty set at Mono. Also in a different menu there was a Sub on and of with Gain settings which was off. Once switched sub to on and set to stereo boom got my bass. Also note that you can control wether it's playing in reverse. BASICALLY if you hook up the speaker wires backward it'll push the wrong way. It'll swap the polarity without having to change the wire position. I would check those options and play with it.

Also if it is a factory JBL amp that was operating on 2ohms then you'll be a bit quieter because the head unit High level output is outputting 4ohms. Recommend checking all those if you haven't.

I just bought the xav9500es from trail grid pro with maestro already added into it. I can't seem to find where to connect the usb-c wire for downloading updates and adding images. Anybody know where it is? It's already installed but its bugging me. I know it's somewhere and it'll be a duh moment lol.

And just to add, Trail Grid Pro includes the USB adapter in their bundles so the USB data port below the AC controls should be connected to the back of the head unit like in this diagram. I ordered the 9000ES from them and saw the USB connected when installing but I haven't tried plugging into the USB data port yet.

I don't have my radio yet ?? With the ubs extension cable on back of radio coming, is the end that cable that comes with the radio going into truck have the ability to plug in a c connection? an how long is that cable? Thinking i might need to buy a c to c connecter to make it long enough to make it useful. An where do u run it. All my spaces are full. Thinking of running to passenger side an velcroing it on there.

Does anyone with this head unit have major issues with wireless Android Auto? I just installed this in my wife's 2019 Highlander and both our phones (S22 Ultra and S24 Ultra) skip/lag like crazy using maps and audio. There are some threads on different forums with people claiming the same thing. Seems insane considering how long this unit has been out.

It does seem like most people with issues are stating they have an S22 or newer. It's just weird because wireless AA works flawlessly in my Sierra HD.

The radio has a yellow BATT always on wire.
    So I would disconnect it.

If replacing the stock radio, you'll need an adapter to retain your dash USB connector.
I think this one but you can probably find it cheaper...

S22 ultra here, I'm having the issues you mention. Based on my research, it's not a Sony problem but an issue with AA wireless on Samsung. If I connect to the USB without wireless, audio is fine. Since I've finally had enough of Samsung after 10 years, I'll update you when my Pixel 9 Pro XL arrives in a few days.

Thanks for confirming. I came to the same conclusion after doing some more research. The S24 skips way less than the S22, but it's still there somewhat. We tried an iPhone and CarPlay works totally fine. Seems like it'd be an easy fix for Samsung, but too many cooks in the kitchen, I guess.

On its way this p.m....question..anyone mount their microphone by your right knee side by the psi/ nanny panel. I have a open spot down there, rather than on steering wheel column.

I mounted up in the factory location in the headliner, the panel up there is pretty easy to take apart and there's a little empty spot inside for the microphone to go. Trail Grid Pro makes/includes with their head units a little mount that fits perfectly up there. Tuck the wire in the headliner over to the A pillar, remove the a pillar and route the wire down into the dash, and then across the dash to the back of the head unit.

Pixel 9 Pro XL, wireless android auto works fine, even with the phone in my pocket. Some things I miss about the Samsung, but so many things have been broken the past two years. They really don't care about updating anything older than a year.

I've been so close to trying out a Pixel, but usually keep my phones for three years before upgrading and Samsung usually gives me ~$600 for my 3-year-old S Ultras. Makes it hard when Google offers around $200 and the Pixel Pro XLs are priced similar to the S Ultra.

Sorry for not updating sooner. Confirmed that the Pixel 9 Pro XL does not have anything near the problems skipping I experienced with my Samsung. On wireless AA, there is a momentary skip/audio drop for example when Waze is updating the map or sending new directions (maybe 1/2 second). I have concluded years ago that wireless (anything) will never be as effective as wired (anything) I ran ethernet all over my house, still love residential fiber phone service, and I'll probably wind up connecting this with a USB whenever possible. Every time that audio drop occurs it kinda pisses me off.
