Test and Learn - Garmin PowerSwitch upfitter switch mount.

I know there are not shortage of these on the market , but I was pleasantly surprised by how this home grown one worked out.

I’m waiting for my negative busbar to come in so I can wire this up on my 2025 Tundra … plan is to mount it by the right side airbox close to where the power will come out of the firewall on my hybrid. But I’m sure you could mount it other places.

thought I would gauge once I finalize the design if there would be interest in doing a group buy or something. I suspect it would be around 130-150 US plus shipping.

 

Soo $130.00 to $150.00 for a sheet of possibly 1/8" aluminum with one press brake bend in it, 3 holes to run wires with no rubber grommets, two holes to mount it, and two holes to mount a $500.00 switch box....I would think something like that should cost around $40.00-ish bucks. Might be wrong though or maybe I'm not seeing the importance.

 

Jesus, 130-150 for that? I'll tell you what, give me an order for 10 of them and I'll make them for $100 each.

 

Looks good, OP. Idk, I've never been able to get rounded slots that look that nice in a piece of sheet metal with a drill. Obviously OP has some production process and machining equipment to make these. Don't need/haven't looked for others on the market, but in general I'd pay for the clean design. I've made a lot of homegrown car stuff over the last 19 years and I've come away with things that looked a LOT less clean.

 

Ugh no I meant a kit but I just had it made so I thought I would share (nuts, bolts, tape, bus bar etc - take it down a notch man , a simple I’m not interested is totally fine.

 

Thanks - they are water jetted … and the price is an estimate at this point the more interest the cheaper it gets , I’m not looking to get rich or anything … I bought a 2025 tundra so obviously making 40-50 bucks on some plate aluminum is not how I payed for it these things aren’t cheap ! Lol

 

I could probably make it on my 3D printer for 2 cents. Talk about profit lol

 

I mean you asked about interest and well you got feedback on the interest in the product. You didn't mention any of the other shit in there so $130.00 for a piece of metal is a little steep and if you don't' share the whole picture......so you're surprised for some reason..

Has anyone mounted a Garmin powerswitch on a 2015 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro?
