    Leaning that way as well
Would mostly be for shrubs, trimming palm trees and maybe processing firewood camping but more and more campsites are not allowing fires so kinda a moot point.
I just noticed the deep cut band saw is on sale for ~300ish. Not sure if that’s a good deal but I’ve been eyeing that one for a while. Kinda wanna wait for the new version to go on sale but worried it might not be compatible with the Hercules stand I have. Also wondering if the old version will go on a deeper sale. My old little machine shop version isn’t great. An upgrade would be more than welcomed.

Anyone tried the new vs old? 2729-20 vs 2929-20?

Does the blade ever pop off/derail on your 27? Happens to my current saw pretty frequently. Probably why they discontinued it..

I think the only time it’s popped off is when it broke the blade

Negative, but honestly it doesn't have a lot of use on it. The 6225 jumped off more than it stayed on, I thought it was the bushings in the wheels, swapped those out, nope. Thought maybe the tires, swapped those, nope. Basically gave up on trying to salvage it for the cost of parts and bought the 27. Of course it had decades of use on it and was probably dropped off a ladder a few times over the years too! So being HD USA made it paid for itself a hundred times over. I didn't even know they were coming out with a new M18 version so now ya'll got me second guessing and the FOMO is kicking in lol

My 2729 has been flawless. It doesn't get used everyday, but when I need it, it works. Mostly 1/8" 1 1/2" angle, some 1/2" x 3 and 4 flat, occasionally some square tubing, and a few other odds and ends. I'm only on the second or third blade (I did break one but the was 100% user error on my part). I also have the little m12 sub-compact 2429 bandsaw that runs around in my truck all the time. It also works great for small stuff or even rebar in a pinch.

I ended asking for the 2729 because it has 90% of the same parts as pretty much all Milwaukee bandsaws from the last 20 years so replacement parts, if ever needed, should be easy to find. The newer model doesn’t have that kind of support.. yet.

I’d be worried they are counterfeit. There are some pretty good looking knockoffs out there that are pretty hard to spot - I’ve received a few. I’d recommend sticking to authorized retailers.

I don’t spend money on Milwaukee stuff so I can’t speak to that. The seller has pretty great reviews though.

I did pick up my first 4 drawer packout and waisted about an hour on one drawer. I'm not an arts and crafts type so not fun at all.

Some stores do. I have not personally tried it, but have heard stores are cracking down on this.
