Whatever this forum told me to do
I hope he intends to keep it.

he will take a bath on trade in.

I guess that is the condition we are seeing now, as people trade in c0vid-era cars.

rolling negative equity is poison, yet, here we are.

Take it with a grain of salt, but media said many other locations will be, and are beginning to follow.

The used vehicle market in general has always been this way. One could also apply this same statement to the third gen tundra. Just like the old days, as soon as you drive new off the lot, it's already lost equity.

Whatever this forum told me to do

    agreed.

the art is keeping the damn thing 10+yrs.

it's the only way you salvage ANY value.

I recently read mercedes & BMW lease 80% of all the cars they sell.

I'm sure other mfr's are just as bad.

100% keep preaching brother. That philosophy, right there is basically why I only buy used cars. I buy them right around 50,000 miles when somebody else lost all the value in it, and I keep the car for 10 to 12 years myself. But if everybody keeps making shit cars, that's not really gonna do me any good with that strategy anymore.

Yep. I bought my 2014 Tundra in 12/2013 and my wife's 2013 Venza in 2015. I don't see replacing either anytime soon. They are both still in great shape with low miles, and besides, I can't/won't pay the stupid high price of new vehicles nowadays.

This is why we have not purchased another vehicle. We want to add a truck, but I just can’t, and won’t do these interest rates. Nope. I also do not trust 3rd gen tundra, so that one is def out. I’ll get a used one. Something decent

    zactly.

If I HAD to get another 1/2 ton...I would be hard pressed to make a decision.

as of right now, it would be an F150 with S/C. This is the least crappy of the options out there.

but, I'm planning on keeping my Tundra till it goes belly up.

side note - My son works downtown Houston now & drives a '15 4R...he calls it the Bradley Vehicle of commuter cars. he gives me the impression he will drive it to the apocalypse, and then drive it back.

do y'all have any realtor friends?

    how are they doing?

the one's I know seem to be doing OK.

    weird.

all of the news I'm seeing is bad as it relates to relators.

FTR - I rank realtors right up there with lawyers.

If you can find one... They were $10k over MSRP at any dealer that actually had one when we bought the wife's Pilot or else we might be in one of those instead.

I kept my Kia for 10 years... :notsure:

Only reason I sold it is a two door doesn't work great with 3 kids in car seats.
