Window trim overlays

I ordered the window molding covers from ecoological.com in november. Got them last week and installed on the truck. Not too thrilled with them. Some chrome is still showing on the edges, they have been on now for four days and I am still having to push down the overlays.

So in my opinion I would not recommend this product. They are pricey also at $150 for cheap plastic.

 

How are they held on, it it just double sided tape or do they snap on? What has the weather been like since you put them on, possibly some heat is needed to get them to stay in place. I'd call them and see what they say about it.

 

I am afraid of using any heat due to them being plastic. Don’t want them to warp or anything. They are held on my double sided tape. And put them on when it was about 60 outside.

 

Give them a shout and send them the pics, maybe you just got a bad run, hopefully they'll send you new ones. Heating them up a little with a hair dryer shouldn't harm them but I get your concern. The areas where it shows the chrome, is there double sided tape in those areas that may have come loose or is it stuck down as far as it can go. If the tape is holding in those areas and it's stuck down with no chance of it covering those areas then they may have had a bad run. Defeats the purpose if any chrome shows at all.

Thanks I will reach out. Problem is now getting them off. The areas that are sticking…are sticking really good and I attempted to remove one of them and it broke the window trim. So I will figure something out. On the other hand the rear bumper covers they sent are great.

 

I have the window trim covers in gloss black and had the same issue with the double sided tape not sticking very well. This is with me having installed them back in June. Had to double up on the double sided tape in certain areas and even put additional strips in areas that the original tape was not placed.

When it comes to coverage though, I don't have any chrome showing. They do leave very little room for error, not aligning them properly can easily cause the chrome to peek through the edges. Could have got a bad batch, I test fitted 3x before installing to make sure no chrome peeked through lol. Will probably be going with the OEM gloss black trim soon.

Yah, I have them and they literally say to use a heat gun, but you still have to be careful. No chrome showing.

Ecoolgical.com came through for me. They refunded me the price of the overlays and are doing some more research on the fitment.When they determine them to be good, they will contact me again and I can purchase a new service want. Great company to deal with.
