Windshield wiper de-icer modifcation

Has anyone modified the button/timer so that it stays on instead of cycling off after 15 minutes?

 

The only button is for the rear/mirror defrost, I didn’t think there was a button for the front deicer

 

They're on the same circuit. The one button operates both, if the vehicle is equipped with both.

 

On my 2021 Ltd, there are two buttons. One for the main windshield defrost and the other is for side mirror defrost and also de-icer for wipers.

 

Show us... Some other models like the highlander and 4Runner(i think...) have the separate button. I didn't think the Tundras had that button.

Cold weather package?

 

defogging windshield is the air vent in the dash. The other buttons are the electric defroster for the back window/side mirrors.

no button for the electric heater in the bottom of the windscreen.

Incorrect. I cut off the manual page before the applicable text. I also have a DC so no rear window defogger, only side view mirrors and windshield wiper de-icer.

ahh I see what you are referring to, sorry missed that.

so for us DC owners, same button as the mirror defroster.

 

Correct. You can look at your windshield and see the de-icer imbedded in the glass. I wish I could override it on really cold/snowy days.

 

Bump to see if anyone has found a solution/override.

 

Didn’t even realize my DC had this premium option, lol!
