Man, we did that 2 winters ago on a slider. Mid Jan, I had the fire box cranking.

I have family in Scottsdale. They brag about it in the winter weather. Sounds about perfect.

LMAO!!! Holy crap. It will be 57* mid day. It should only take an hour or so to remove and square up the new one. We are going with an 8' door and removing the transom. Can't wait to put that door on the chicken coop. Hate that solid core wood door. Biggest waste of energy in the house.

We had the door off a little more than an hour. And it was an original single pane slider we replaced. Talk about a waste of energy. Totally worth every penny we spent on the new one.

100%. We replaced all windows and doors this year with Andersen and the front door is...well I can't remember. It was a cheaper one at 10K. I had quotes over 30k. Those were the salesmen I asked to leave.

Also Anderson. Well worth the price tag. Our installer was a young kid named Cody. Said his father had been installing windows and doors and he grew into his father's business. I think he was in his early 20's and he drove up from the springs. Both my wife and I had left before he was finished. So my wife checked the ring cam and saw that he went outside and made a few trips to reload my wood storage in the house and also stoked the fire up before he left. Was super impressed.

At grandmas we replaced a lame double door with something very similar to this. It was more of a security thing than anything else, found the doors open on a windy day and that was unacceptable

Andersen was the cheapest for our house. Well, through Home Depot. Renewal by Andersen wanted triple the cost for the same windows. They also were the jackwagons that quoted me 30k for a front door.
We also looked at Sierra Pacific windows. But after their recommended installation they came out to 125K dollars for 24 windows. I literally told her to get fucked.
So for 40k I replaced all windows, rear slider and front door. I'm not upset with that at all.

We had a double front door with this. French back doors with a slider, and 5 windows replaced. It wasn't my business what she paid but she says it's paid for itself already in energy savings.

I highly recommend HD. They have killed it with my house. Getting quotes for 96-125k....GF'd.

I helped my grandma realize this concept when I found out what she paid. It's worth 6X that now and I was like "and the rent for a shit apartment has gone up the same amount"
She gives me a lot less shit about living in my truck now.

Yeah. My stomach flips thinking about it all. When my Dad died he didn't have a will so it all went to auction basically. Childhood home that wasn't big, but was a split entry 4 bed, 2 bath, 2 car garage, on a half or 3/4 acre was sold for $75K. I wouldn't want a split entry, and could make do with half the beds and baths, but you can't even get that for twice that price now.

A couple bathrooms, appliances, and carpet to go with the doors and windows.

you wanna get real crazy use the insulated foil. It honestly will make a huge difference. I get them free from the loads of fresh herbs we order for our restaurant. I use them in the top of an overpriced cooler to make them even more effective.
A cooler with one of these cut to fit on top holds ice almost twice as long as the same cooler in the same conditions without one.

I hear that and this cost wouldn't be most homeowners. If this was a track home in a development the cost would be a faction. Our home is custom built and some extra costs come with that. If I had my damn way a third of my windows would be gone.

I would bet good money HD could put in a good window within your budget.
