    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Reminds me of a quote.

the wheels of government grind slow and embarrassingly dumb.

So true, though they'd have to have shame to be able to be embarrassed. They don't.

    Stating the obvious here.

And one more great quote. This one's from Edward Abbey.

"Say what you like about my bloody murderous government,' I says, 'but don't insult me poor bleedin' country."

The perfect crime was committed last night.

Someone broke into the police station and stole all the toilets. Police say they have nothing to go on.

Today was the first time in my life I have walked into an event with an open bar and didn't have one drink. Minus my first ever Celsius drink. Which was Meh. Friend told me I shouldn't have tried the no-fizz one. Carnitas was so good though.

Also met the wife out for a bite to eat on my way home. She had 3 drinks and was toasted. What felt really good was knowing that I wouldn't be feeling it in the morning.

My 10 year old HP computer has been crashing and making funny noises for a while now. Decided it was time to replace it. Never realized how I've been living in the ancient past with Windows 7, now I'm up to 11, Hoo Boy times are good. This will not turn out well.

At the risk of oversimplification, group A spends group B’s money on group C—it is the least efficient and successful way to do anything at all.

Was at a burger joint yesterday. Last time I had been there was 3 years ago and I had downed a few beers. This time I just got water and the thought of beer didn't cross my mind. It felt liberating.

Glad you are feeling good with passing on the booze.

My computer has a Xeon E31240 3.3GHz processor and 32GB RAM. Which is apparently too weak for Win11. I've been waiting for Microsoft's confirmation of hardware specs to come out for Win12 before getting something new; but it's disappointing that I even have to.

I am sure Windows 11 had a fair amount of changes made under the hood compared to Windows 10 but as an end user, outside of the start icon/search box getting moved around, I didn't notice any meaningful changes that made me want to upgrade an OS. I have both versions, Windows 10 on a laptop and Windows 11 on a desktop.

Back in the day new versions of Windows used to add a ton of functionality and enhancement to the user experience. Not seeing much of that in the Windows 10 move to Windows 11. Windows 10 with the updated hardware support for the latest gen of hardware would have been fine without the useless cosmetic changes made to make Windows 11 feel like a new product worth its price.

My Mac died this past summer. I'd be lost on windows. And I haven't replaced it with anything because I have a computer in my pocket.

New Windows offers security upgrades, so I guess that’s a benefit. With a lot of the setup and features, basically they are flat out fucking with the consumer at this point, making it harder to dumb down and opt out of their software and subscriptions. Plus, they sold out a long time ago and killed Windows Media Center.

    Fuck Microsoft.

Most of the updates were under the covers, not UI. Better security, connectivity to upstream systems and virtualization, gaming, etc. I like that they're innovating, but I'd rather the interface stay as constant as possible.
