Put new pads and rotors on about a month ago. Stock rotors made it 120K with a second set of pads. Decided with EBC rotors with their Yellowstuff pads. Noticed a pretty big difference in stopping power right away! We’ll see how long they last. Didn’t realize with my Camburg spindles that the brake lines need to be disconnected to move the caliper out of the way to put take the rotors on and off because of the way the lines mount to the spindle, so thought while I was at it I might as well flush all new fluid in the system

I went back to oem but the stopping power is considerably less. Now that I think about it, that’s when I lost my wheel going to T2S :monocle: cuz I remember being past Barstow and trying to stop hard on the freeway - idiots on the road.

Decided it was time for a little change, Got some new wheels and tires. Wheels are Method 316 17” 0 offset with 315/70 Cooper STTs. Originally ordered 704s but the guy at discount said Method is discontinuing them and will not be restocking so 316 it was lol.

Damn, I gotta see this truck if I can come back to SJ in Feb. Lol, how are you liking the EBC rotors? I was debating those, but mine needed replacing immediately so I went OE again.

I’m on my 2nd set of yellow stuff. Lasted me about 20k with some heavy towing.

FYI though, check thickness every oil change. They’re gonna wear out fast and once you start hearing squealing, have something ready to replace the fronts

My pins probably had too much crap on it, so my driver side outer pad wore down a crap ton faster than the inners.

So far I’m liking the rotors, they were relatively cheap compared to other rotors I was looking at which helped with the decision haha. Hopefully I don’t have to replace the rotors with the pads each time lol thanks for the heads up tho!

Being on baby leave for the last month and a half has had me looking for any reason to go into the garage:rofl: Did this trucks first PS flush today, 120k miles it was about time. Next up is coolant flush, oil and filter change, and idler pulley and belt replacement. Then maybe trans drain and fill.

What do you use to extract it and what’s your process? Just extract and replace multiple times until the fluid is clear without allowing air?

Hahaha :anonymous: better late than never. That’s my plan from this point on, to just drain and refill the reservoir at every oil change.

After having my Morimoto XBs for just over 5 years, I decided to try my luck with a restoration kit. After some research I used the Sylvania kit and WOW I’m very impressed for $20. Brought these things back to life

Replaced spark plugs today, fairly easy job, my truck didn’t seem to have all the wiring harnesses in the way like others I’ve seen on YouTube. Didn’t have to remove anything but unbolt the wire harness on the fire wall on passenger side. Drivers side was a little more challenging only because of where I mounted my SPod haha! The electrical plug pliers I got made it way easier to remove all the connections. I did notice on the front 2 plugs on the drivers side, had motor oil all around the hex part of the plug.. didn’t think much of it, threw in new plugs and moved onto cleaning the throttle body. Holy cow was that thing dirty on the inside of the butterfly. Threw it all back together and purrs like a kitten. Seemed like it was way more responsive afterwards too, or maybe I’m in my own head lol

Yessir! Ordered them from Summit Racing. Get an assortment of 3/8” locking extensions if you don’t have any and a magnetic 5/8” plug socket will make it easy!

Did the trucks first trans drain and fill yesterday at 123k miles. Better late than never. :anonymous: I used the paperclip to jump the OBD terminals to put it in fluid check mode. Drained just over 4q and put 5q back in. The funnel with long a long 5/8” tube is the way to go rather than use the hand pump hundreds of thousands of times haha! What I didn’t know was how long it took for the trans to get up to the right temp, truck was idling for over 35 minutes with me dead staring at the cluster waiting for drive to illuminate. Waited so long I thought for sure I messed the procedure up so I shut off the truck and redid the steps 4 different times. Should’ve practiced before so I knew what to expect lol. Finally I was about to give up and do it with my scanner when the D light came on. Shifts way smoother now. I’ll do another one at the next oil change. The fluid that came out on initial drain looked like diesel motor oil:rofl:Now all the maintenance is done and can rest assured she’s dialed:cool:
