They’re probably quoting you for complete control arms, as most dealers won’t press the joints out of the arms. Did they say anything about seized adjustment cams?

My ball joints have been oozing grease for 70k miles… $4k is nuts.

$4k doesn't even pass the sniff-test. Someone is trying to line their pockets.

Edit: no offense OP, but I would run far and fast from that quote.

I was able to score low-mileage take-off here… $100 for LCAs and $20 for UCAs.

I was gifted a 20k mile suspension from my brother, he removed it from his dealers 2021 plow truck. I sold the UCA’s for $150.

    Thanks
I didn’t want to offend, either is why I asked that way.
Just seemed like someone wanted a nice holiday-time vacation.

Yep, at your expense. I'd tell'em to go pound sand and never, ever, do business with them again. Just my .02

Can this be right, 20 bucks for rock auto’s “premium“?
    Wow.
They must be really difficult to replace!

They are a bitch to press in and out - but 99% chance your ball joints are just fine. The dealer tech spotted grease and they wrote them off as junk. Any wandering in the front end or uneven tire wear?

As a former dealer tech, I can almost guarantee this. I used to get vehicles from the mouth breathing room temp IQ lube techs saying it needs ball joints, based on a little bit of grease leakage. Do a quick check for play and noise, and 98% of them got shipped with no issue. Now 1st gen Tundras, Sequoias, Tacomas and 3rd gen 4runners I took seriously. I've done plenty of those.

I really don’t do any hard driving.
No off road, rare ranch roads, no hard cornering. Gonna see what the alignment tech says in 10k.
