A little of this and a little of that.
I’ve got to thank @coosbaybaker and the other guy who helped me (I can’t find the thread or remember his screen name, so sorry)

I have desert pin stripping down the drivers side of the vehicle and a few on the passengers side as well. Coos told me to use 3M Machine Polish and a Dual Action polisher.

I am amazed that these scratches are now gone. I spent the morning washing and waxing my truck but it was totally worth it. As I was going over the individual panels I could actually see the scratches disappear!! I am so happy with the results, 99% of all the scratches are gone!

Thank you Thank you to everyone who gave me advice!

Post up some picks of that new shine. I used one first time on mine. Bought truck used, heavy swirls and brush scratches. Couldn't believe the results. 20170702_102158_Burst01.jpg

Very nice shine. What product did you use?

Hey Steve, what do you mean. I was supposed to do another coat of another f’n wa or something. I didn’t know. The first coat about killed me. MAybe I can do a Carnuba Wax shining later today. Because of my back I couldn’t have done another coat of shine if I was paid to.

Hey Aarron. Used meguires clay bar then compound with orange hex logic cutting pad, 6 slow passes each section, then the griots garage 3 in 1 with hex logic black polishing pad 4 passes each section. Harbor freight da polisher. About 40 hrs total all work. Will be using chemical guys products when I do it again next summer or fall.81kUYnSPoTL._SY355_.jpg p30614z.jpg

I have some liquid carnuba wax that is designed to be put on with a DA polisher. When the sun comes up I’ll hit her with a coat of the carnuba before she gets dirty again.

@WarEagleSteve , should I apply the liquid carnuba wax by hand or apply with my DA polisher?? and then wipe the excess off by hand??

I guess I could read the directions on the bottle. It reads a DA polisher is recommended but that you could apply by hand if one wanted to. I’ll use my DA polisher. This am.

    Thanks Steve!!

Thank you very much. It’s not that bad of a job to do as long as you have a dual action polisher. I wouldn’t want to attempt to do it by hand. You should do it to your truck if/when you have a couple hours to kill.

I don't have a dual action polisher....let alone a place to keep one. it would have to be done by hand.....my hand is already cramping just thinking about it

    YOu’re a better man than I.

Yeah, mine is cramping and I used the DA polisher.

Thank you sir!! From start to finish? A lot of f’n work I’ll say. I don’t want to do it again for at least a month or two. I did read online that the finishing glaze I used (It has carnuaba wax in it) isn’t much of a protectant which, pisses me off as I need to put on a more hardy WAX on my truck still.

I’ve used and have that Meguire’s wax product you showed and I didn’t really like it much. It seemed to wipe off really easy after I put it on the truck. I guess I’m old school where I think it has to be hard to get off after drying to the paint or it’s no good. Maybe that’s not how it is now a days.

I am old school as well....and I did the yellow Mothers Carnuba paste wax back in March...And after doing the whole truck with that I quickly found out that after years of using the product I needed to look into some newer technology.....HENCE the Ultimate liquid wax I posted.... I myself am a huge fan of this liquid wax. Easy to apply and the water beads insane on my truck. And I thought the same thing that it being easier to apply and it being easier to wipe off meant that it would not last as long. Well that is not the case. Just liquid polymer wax is amazing in my opinion

Obviously one of the reasons why this turned out being an awesome and beautiful truck is because you’re starting with a Super White truck to begin with!
Nice job for sure. I’m facing the same “pinstriped” panel repair myself. Not sure when I will get to it.
