I deviate from the instructions when i saw a gap in between bumper and grill plastics where I could lift one up and run it threw. Enough slack I can grab it an pull it out to connect but the end won’t slip back threw. I forget it’s there unless I’m on my knees. May only work with my fancy non trd sr5 grill though.

Anyone know where the fuse is or what it’s labeled as for comfort plus as part of the block heater? Checked all 3 fuse boxes twice and can’t find it. Worked fine last year. I can connect to comfort plus app but it says truck isn’t plugged in (it is) so assuming there is a master fuse for the brain

I am also interested in this question: to what temperature does this element heat up and to what temperature does the antifreeze heat up?

-16 Celsius out at time of photos with a low of -20 that night. Motor off, heater on for 4 hours in the morning. Note red blue and centre cross hairs in the legend. Thermal camera results surprised me, didn’t think I’d get temps this high. I’m happy with heaters performance. In Second photo the max is locked onto block heaters location. Should have removed engine cover and had a pic of engine warmed up too. These are only surface temp measurements on a windy morning.
Don’t notice temp gage on dash warming up a lot faster but motor turns over much easier and idling in driveway is reduced before I feel it’s time to drive off. Sorry never sit in the truck while it’s warming up so I’ve never noticed warm air blowing on startup but must blow warm air faster with block heater.

    Factory installed self-destruct device :D
The parts for the Comfort Plus system are for Toyota Canada dealers only. I ended up calling an Ontario dealer who ordered in all the parts for me, and I had to go and pick them up since I was told they are not allowed to ship those parts to US customers.

Edit: The exchange rate these days is pretty good for US customers for parts and installation if one is so inclined to hop over.
