I was just in Banff and easily parked in 6’4” parkade under hotel, reason enough to never put a lift on my truck. 2013 double cab for reference.

Got my ebc rotors and pads from tdotperformance, had to wait a bit but shipping was free. Great experience.

fyi you do not have to pay duties from the USA and most of Europe. When the shipper contacts you for duty fees tell them you are self clearing the item and to please send you the forms. They will give you the run around and you may have to be pushy, but demand the forms, once you have them, go to customs yourself, pay the small fee and collect your item.
Not worth it on small purchases but I saved $600 on my mountain bike doing this.

Going to custom directly is 150 km each way. I just checked 300 km in my tundra was 50 litres which was $82.
The company that used to bring stuff to Vancouver Is in Victoria just closed forever today. That generally saved on
shipping but fuel took off and it became less viable. The next 4 yrs will see, but it's not going to get easier or cheaper.

@Cruiserpilot / anyone else, what do you think of this? Appreciate the help! Seems like 04's aren't terrible at all: dipstick, non secondary air pump issues albeit 4 speed auto, etc...
A higher mileage vehicle however but not my biggest concern if maintained as well as they say they did (~380,000 km / ~236,000 miles).

    Here's the frame in question:

    Thanks all

That’s a clean frame. Wow! Makes that Duncan truck look like a street urchin!

Yeah, the frame alone I was quite shocked to see, lil bit of surface rust which is manageable, but overall

Not sure what else I would really have to consider? Definitely top of the list for ones I'd consider

So I'm on Vancouver Island. Does anyone have any use for the last century 15" wheels??
I've got the original 15x10 Eagle Alloys from my '73 FJ40 I bought new in 1998 or so. I actually have
two sets now. I wouldn't mind some kind of money but whatever someone might think they are worth.
The tires are gone, they'd be too old now. This truck is in pieces, body has been rebuilt with all new metal.
I'll be going to a 13BT diesel, 5 speed and the rear axle will be a BJ74 FF. I will go with at least a 16" wheel
when it gets all back together just for common sense and tire availability.
Anyone wants 4-5 or 9 let me know. I'm not too keen on shipping too far unless you are very motivated.

@Cruiserpilot, the previous posting with the clean frame was marked as pending after I sent them a message. :/

Ended up finding another first gen for sale, I originally found the facebook listing for the following: (located in Surrey)

I sent him a message inquiring about the frame, but they left me on read. Followed up to see if I could get an update, but again, left me on read. Probably just assuming he might already have a buyer, not sure. Marketplace just be annoying sometimes.

Anyways, came across it again on craigslist but listed in Nanaimo, not sure what to think anymore lol:
    https://nanaimo.craigslist.org/cto/d/nanaimo-north-2006-toyota-tundra-4x4/7808568049.html

    The search continues on..

P.S are those all your dogs in that previous post?!

That blue truck is a beauty. It says timing chain, so not sure what motor is in it or it's just a typo meaning timing belt?

Yup, we had 14 dogs + there for a while - 7 Rhodesian Ridgebacks, 2 males ( they fought, I got bit ) 5 Jack Russell Terriers 1 male.
He got laid alot! But not to the home dogs. Cricket the large shorthair JRT could kill, and did. She was mine, loved her to death.
A couple of Chihuahua's were in the mix. That was a few years ago, down to one JRT female and one 18 yr Chihuahua now.

Yea, they had me at "in very nice condition", given the frame was in good condition I'd be happy to jump on it. Just a shame no reply on the marketplace end.
If I wanted to be annoying and pesky, I'd prob decide to shoot them a message on craigslist later lol.

Definitely typo, their post had multiple typos.

Dude, you are living my dream. AHHAHA dam, quite some stories for em. Kudos to you for making that happen, that is absolutely wild!

Someone had me up early Sunday morning, posted a 2009 Tundra RCSB white in Duncan 25 kms away for $5500!!
I texted and messaged, I was just gonna drive down and buy it. Waited an hour, texted and messaged again, nothing,
Gave up. Post was gone by end of day. Tease!!

With Christmas just around the corner, it's literally like waking up hoping to find some treats in your stocking, only to find coal.
I guess god dam to the lucky bastard who might've drove off with that deal.

Well there was. It was listed back as SOLD. So I guess I’ll see it around soon enough but that was a heck of a deal!! I’m not too sure it really was a 4WD. I think it was 2WD. No emblem on the tailgate.

Man, a second gen for 5500 is absurd, the cheapest good condition first gen I've stumbled upon was actually 5500 as well off on the island, it sold within a day. But for a second gen?! You really can't beat that.

Oh man, on that note, the blue truck I last posted, seller finally replied with a "Yes, it's available", do I even bother asking for frame photos again or just ask for a viewing? :boink: What a headache..

    Lots of stuff!
I have some Gen 3 aftermarket wheels too with Toyos! They are too good to sell but the truck is gone now so I need to move them along.

I have noticed very little interest in my aftermarket stuff in the Vancouver area. I am pretty much giving them away and still no interest.

I think the Gen 3 Tundra sales has slipped a bit and I am seeing the prices dropping on the used ones. 2021 models and older are still showing strong asking prices on Craigslist.

Gen 2 wheels and tires are almost give aways. Lots of Gen 3 stuff but no good to previous gens, kind of a small audience now with
    bolt pattern change

    hah hah
I used to live in a small town north of Toronto. They put a Lowes at the north end of Newmarket and it was 10 mins away for me.
Very convenient. And Home Depot was already 2 mins south of there.
We ended up moving to the boonies - 45 mins from there and they converted that Lowes to Rona. I have to admit when I do show up there to beat a price, customer service at the store - not CS online - is very good at matching and beating, even if the local competitor store has 0 stock, if they have the same product.

I was a Cdn Tire heavy. I remember the days when cash was king over credit cards and no digital Cdn Tire money.
At the cash People when paying would pull out a 1 inch thick wad of Cdn tire money. lol
Oh shit you would say if you were waiting in line behind them.
And many times these Cdn Tire bills were not sorted, so the cashier would have to lay them out on the counter and sort them - real time. So she could count them better....while others waited in line ! Who remembers that ?
Some Kijiji and other sales ads - no Facebook back then - said - we will take Cdn Tire Money at par. 8^)

We were always 10 mins from a Cdn Tire or Home Hardware store.
Since we moved Cdn Tire has lost a lot of business to Ama-zon, Princess Auto and Walmart because they all offer free shipping through a courier, so your order is 1-2 days away.
Cdn Tire and Home Hardware are independently owned and won't match prices.
There is a Home Hardware near us in the small village, but 60% of the time they need to order the product in.
By the time the product comes in, you still need to drive there. Ama-zon would have delivered it.

The Home Hardware near us is small but packed with stuff. I think the only thing they've ever had to order for me was eavestrough because the stuff on my house is a unique colour.

I'd still rather support local stores than Amazon. Amazon isn't even really all that more convenient because I have to take all the boxes back to the local recycling station every time my wife manages to fill up the garage.

Saw this tip online. Keep the Ama-zon boxes intact - put crap u dont want in them and leave them on your porch where anyone can see them.

I know this is a long shot but i figured I would ask.

I changed a tire for a stranded motorist earlier today and their Jack wasn’t getting the job done, so I used mine. Naturally I left one of the 3 black square rods from the tundras factory tire change kit either on the side of the road somewhere, or in the trunk that ladies car.

If anyone has one for sale I would be appreciative. Thanks.

As they say no good deed goes unpunished. Sorry to hear that. Call up local wrecking yard.
Pretty much guarantee if there’s a wreck there’s a replacement piece.
Because I too stop to help people I saw this at Lee Valley and bought it. Ironically now I have a Tundra with 22mm / 7/8” socket I now have a impact for my own truck as well as others. I carry my 18V Milwaukee in the tool bag now. Easier than lug nut wrench’s.

Smart money carrying the Milwaukee. I carry an air pump a small set of tools, and jumper cables. This is only the second time I have had to bust out my own personal jack to make up for the inadequacy of the scissor style jack though.
