So I found a spokeshave at a flea market in Houston and I thought it was a Stanley but it doesn’t have a markings.

Did I just get a knockoff tool?

It seems well built so I’m just curious.

No idea what a spokeshave is, or does.

Looks like it got a pretty heavy paint job at some point (drip at end opposite of hole) might have painted over any markings. It does look like a nicely made tool.

Yea my bad guys, i usually refinish my garden tool handles and take the factory clear coat off so I can coat them with boiled linseed oil.

Seems like the oil keeps the wood from drying out and splitting.
