Neither of them come on when I unlock the car.

Seemed to be sporadically happening the last few months. Sometimes they’d come on and sometimes they wouldn’t. Now they’re not coming on at all and haven’t for the last week.

Interestingly, they never did this until after I had my Compustar T13 installed by a Compustar pro dealer. Could be a coincidence…?

Same thing happens whether I unlock with my OEM key/fob or with the Compustar remote.

Both puddle lights are not OEM -they’re VLEDs. I bought them and installed them in spring or summer 2022.

Could they both be going bad at the same time? That seems really unlikely.

    What else could it be?

Truck is still under warranty. But trying to rule out other scenarios first.

Very unlikely for both to go bad. Are you able to check the vehicle lighting setting through the radio? Maybe there’s something to there that may gotten reset?

I have double checked all my settings. Nothing has changed from how I have always had it set. Also, as far as I can tell, my truck does not have a setting that has anything to do with the puddle lights.

Pop the oem one back in and see if they work. You’ll have to buy new double sided tape for thr vleds afterward. Then test the vleds with a 9v battery and see if they both still work. If yes and the oem still doesnt work. You may need a new mirror ecu.

    Or try this:
    https://www.tundratalk.net/threads/...uddle-lights-now-they-dont-work.713569/page-4

The mirror ecu located in the door. You’ll have to pull the door cap. At least that’s what that guy had to do. Mirror ecu some how fried.

I started reading through that last night. My problem I just the puddles though. Wouldn’t that ECU also control other things - electric mirror adjustments etc. ?

I does. Maybe just the part that control the puddle lights got fried? Resistor or diode maybe?
