    That sucks... :(

    Not sure what she was on originally, but sounds like they need to get her on at least a tetracycline such as doxycycline; it's a bit harder on the stomach, so make sure she's getting something on her tummy w/it such as protein, crackers, or bread (but no dairy 2hrs before or after each dose to maximize efficacy)...

    Also, once she's done w/whatever they end up giving her.... have her run a good week or two of a solid yogurt product to get everything balanced back out in her digestive track :thumbsup:

    These are good... it's a greek yogurt, but is a bit smoother and creamier than most, and the fruit is pretty decent tasting :)

    Another option would be using a pro-biotic (several days after the completion of the antibiotic course) :thumbsup:

    She’s on methotrexate for her juvenile arthritis. She has a compromised immune system so, a shitty immune system.
    They gave her amoxicillin this week, but obviously it’s not working. Hopefully it’s killed off the pneumonia part.
    She’s been eating crackers, raspberry’s, and soup along with Gatorade and popsicles (hydration).
    My guess is they’ll give her another IV of fluids and an a different antibiotic. They have to be careful what they give her or it may not mix well with her juv arthritis meds.
    She will not eat yogurt. She’s a very picky eater…very picky.

    so she’s thinking it might either be walking pneumonia- which is another type of bacterial pneumonia so they are going to prescribe an additional antibiotic

    or it could be viral pneumonia and then she’s pretty much just going have to let her body fight it

    I will respectfully disagree with you, but I know it’s your indulgence.

    We made homemade (from scratch) roasted tomato soup (add ground turkey for extra protein). And toasted cheese sandwiches on sourdough with thick cut bacon. The cheese was cave aged Kerry Gold sharp cheddar and Beechers Original (a PNW gem). I used bacon grease instead of butter or mayo for the outside of the bread. Topped the soup with a little flat-leaf parsley pesto and a dollop of sour cream.
