No active airdam on 2023 1794 Hybrid with TRD OR?

You press a button by your knees and it won’t do that… it stays on after you shut the truck off as well

 

My 2023 1794 iFORCE MAX 4wd (with TRD offroad) does not have the air dam. I'm happy.

 

2022 1794 iforce max hybrid 4wd trd offroad. No airdam.

 

So I’m confused what does the air dam do and TRD pro has or doesn’t have?

Is your truck a Hybrid Engine?

 

Does your truck have the Hybrid Engine. I called my dealer to complain and they are saying it is because I have the Hybrid engine.

 

I have a 2022 Limited TRD 4x4 with a Hybrid and I DON'T have it.

 

My 2024 TRD OffRoad Limited has it unfortunately.

 

My 6/23 built 1794 non-hybrid non-TRD OR does not have the air dam, thankfully.

 

I’m having a hard time believing that so many limited trims and above don’t have the air dam.
Do you guys know how to deploy the air dam to verify if you have it?
While in park, press start button to turn on, press start button to turn off, then immediately push up on wiper stalk for 5-10 seconds.
Exit truck and look under front bumper.
It will be quite obvious if you have it.

It IS impossible to see when it's in the retracted/up position without doing a worm's eye view looking up.

 

Any Gen 3 Tundra owner who has done his own oil changes knows whether or not his truck has one.

Frankly, I'm glad my '23 1794 doesn't have one.

 

I have a 2024 limited TRD offroad non hybrid with the Airdam. Wonder if it is a regional thing I'm in the Northeast?

My SR5 non TRD came with one. Took it off, lol.

 

It was reported back then that Active Air Dams were eliminated from all trims with a TRD OR pkg around Mar 2023 and later.

 

Based on what we're seeing in this post, it was reported incorrectly.

2024 TRD Off-road SR5. Definitely have the air dam. A real pain when changing the oil.

 

Good to know. Wonder if they made that change back to adding them onto all trim levels? If my 5/23 built Lim TRDOR had one I’d have smacked it a few times with hwy debris and roadkill by now.

I have a 2024 SR5 with the TRD off road package and it has the auto air dam on it!

 

With regards to the air dam there really seems to be no rhyme or reason has to what model gets it and what model doesn't . Mine has one" 24 TRD off-road". This goes right along with some who have removed it and have no codes show up while others who have removed it get codes. As far as oil changes and skid plates go it's easy enough to put the air-dam in service mode which gets it out of the way. With Toyota it a little like the old prize in a box of Cracker Jacks, You never know what your going to get.

 

Damn, I had the air dam on my 22 Limited TRD-OR non-hybrid and “sacrificed” it for a front bumper from CBI. I got their “AD delete module” to avoid error codes.

I still wonder if there’s a way to deactivate it via software (TISS)…

 

Yes. Very odd. When I was shopping in ‘23 they seemed to stop putting them on the Limited TRDOR trucks I was looking at. My May ‘23 doesnt have it nor some later ‘23s I looked at. Maybe a parts shortage?
