Not sure what Gov. Entity or Satanic cult is responsible for the latest flu/virus that is going around, but I just spent 4 days straight in a feverish death sleep. Every time I woke up it was always 4:30 and dark outside. Is it day or night I asked? The Devil would not reply.

On a semi serious note, why can't you text it to her while she's in the shower? That's the point of text: you send a message and the person responds when they're available.

That’s awesome, your setup looks cleaner than mine. It’s good to have cameras. I have three wired POE cameras, Lorex is the brand I like. I also have one of their wireless doorbell cams which has been excellent. Nothing is cloud recorded, all local. I run them to an old computer that I built for my wife, and use Blue Iris software for recording. The doorbell cam has a battery, but is recharged by the doorbell wire. It records to a card on the unit. I’ll probably get at least one more wireless camera. The wireless cameras that Lorex has are getting pretty good. They also sell local storage devices that are their own brand of NAS boxes. My hurdle has been quality night vision recording when subjects are moving. Wired has worked for that in my situation. I would eventually like to set up a bird cam for my backyard. Smile and wave

I do really like how realiable the Lorex cameras have been. Subzero has not been a problem. They just keep chugging along. It’s been a fun hobby. Glad to hear you’ve got yourself covered. I just wish I had a lake and a Mastercraft  I could get one but, I don’t know if we’d use it enough. Lake life is damn fun. The lakes here are clean, clear, cold, and busy.

Years ago I found this website that has full-size plans for building boats. It's like building a big model when we were kids, but with more glue and a lot of clamps. All kinds of boats, including really nice ski boats with inboard engines. There are also stories on the site where people show the ski boat that they built in the 70's/80's, and are now restoring years later with their next generation of family members. I like the boats where the finish layer of plywood is mahogany, and then they paint portions of the hull, while leaving other portions clear/stained to exhibit the woodgrain. Once the hull is completed, I think they lay over fiberglass layers that dry clear. They have inboard plans where you drop in a crate engine. The wood system is strong and light.

These days it just seems like too much work, but it's fun to see what other people have built. I know folks on this site build boats, and race boats. Anyway, pretty interesting.

    We love the lorex system.

    it has never gone down

the lorex phone app is even nice!

The boat has been awesome for us.
it brings the family together and is a nice conduit for us to keep sharing time as they get older.

having a gaggle of college kids at the house is a hoot!

I was trying to pan in, lol. My wiring is not super attractive. The cams have button dongles, so I wrapped it all up with Tessa tape. Should paint all of it. I will check out the Night Owl brand, thanks for sharing.

Can you run the wire behind the cameras and then just zip it together so its less obvious and cleaner?

Yeah, I should probably get up in the attic and move the hole for the wires and make this better. It’s not really that great. It doesn’t look as bad in a live view walking up to the house, it’s not as intrusive as the photos. I need to look more into finding a better local data storage/recording system too.
