Does it come with the new locking anvil inserts or are those purchased separately?

Comes with your choice of metric or SAE inserts but it also has the 1/4" and 3/8" inserts to allow you to use your own sockets. Also comes with an insert to use all your driver bits.

Correction: Looks like metric is the only option it comes with. You'd have to buy the SAE parts separate. Item# 49-16-1640

Yup yup. But they have a new locking anvil that prevents the insert from coming out when you pull your socket off. Just wondering if they include that or if you need to buy separately. Looks like you may have the old style

Check the build link in my signature.
Came with a set of metric sockets plus the 3/8 and 1/4 drive locking anvil and a 1/4 hex bit adapter.
I’ll eventually pick up the SAE sockets and a boot for it

I have been focused only on M18 but you folks are now making start in on M12 tools. That looks so sweet I must have one. What is the Milwaukee tool number?

that’s the part number I got too

I’m continuously amazed at the utility and compactness of the M12 tools. They don’t have the “cut 2x4’s all day on a single charge” power, but are my preferred tools for a lot of day-to-day use.

I’m now looking at the M12 oscillating tool because I like the size of it over the bigger M18 version for most of the things I use that tool for. May do the same with the barrel-grip jigsaw.
And the new High output 2.5 and 5.0 batteries are great.

That's exactly how I feel about some of these m12 tools. Sometimes it makes sense to have m12 over M18. I chose the m12 jig saw over the M18 for that exact reason and love it. I've only cut plexiglass with it but it's capable of cutting just about anything.
    20241205_105433.jpg

Also having a m12 stubby impact wrench was a must have for me. It's what I use the most.

I’ve got solid intel that says I’ll have my first Milwaukee under the Christmas tree. 2727 16” bar M18 chainsaw kit with a 12 ah battery. I’ve been avoiding popping my cherry for years. Work is all snap on and home is makita. As they crap out or otherwise disappoint me I’ll replace with Milwaukee.
