TRD Red Axles

After waiting seven months for the 3" TRD lift to be available I finally cancelled my order with Toyota and went with the ICON Stage 5 kit. However I did order the TRD red axles from Toyota, or so I thought...

Now I find out that the passenger axles are on backorder with no ship date, the dealer told me it could be 4-6 months. Anyone have a work around, are the silver axles out from the 3" lift kit available to order? This crap is getting out of hand.

 

There is one guy in buy/sale tread, that is trying to seel a set.

 

Yes it is really a big disappointment.. I can’t fathom why we can’t buy the TRD 3” Kit and have a local 4x4 shop install…. Anyone know someone with the kit they want to sell…or a parts department that will actually sell? I’d like to buy if so.. I know wishful thinking

 

I’ve got some of the main items brand new for sale if you want to piece the kit together yourself. I ended up finding a dealer that had a passenger axle in stock.

 

I ordered the other ones from Germain Toyota of Naples. Were at my door very fast but I am in FL.

 

i ordered the silver TRD axles from my local dealer and had them in 3 days. Red's were on back order...

 

Which Stage 5 kit did you get?

 

I kind of wish I had just gone with the silver axles, but what's done is done.

I went with the ICON 2022-2024 Toyota Tundra, 1.25-3.5" Lift, Stage 5, 2.5 Suspension System, Billet.

 

What made you go with the billet over tubular? Just wondering if it's worth $500 more. Also did you install it yourself or have it installed? I am going to get quotes and just curious what is considered a reasonable amount for install

 

It came down to the fact that I already paid $80k for the truck, why try and save a little money o the cheaper option now

I haven't done the install yet, still debating whether or not I want to do it myself or have a shop do it. Either way I will probably get pricing from a shop and I'll report back. I'm just waiting on the axles to arrive, which should be here Friday.

 

And the other dealer was mistaken and doesn't have the passenger axle in stock, so it's back to the waiting game.

 

Just talked to the original dealer and they are supposed to receive the axle March 5th, so it looks like I will finally be able to lift my truck.

 

I work at a GST Toyota dealer, there is never an ETA anymore (since Covid), they will give you an artificial date that never happens, it either gets here earlier, or much later... it is the SHYTS to work for the GST brand, I have 40 years of West Coast Toyota experience, but with Covid I moved t Texas to keep working, and now... it's ALL of this BS. I am retiring in the next few weeks, I've had enough (after 45 yearss)

 

It seems as though my axle arrived to the deliver earlier than expected, I got the FedEx tracking number and it's on its was to me now. My new wheels and tires arrived last week, looks like I need to find a shop to get everything installed.
