I bought something similar from Buc-ee’s while on a road trip. AWFUL.

It is very difficult to find any kind of protein-rich snack food that doesn’t have a bunch of added sugar and/or crap I can’t pronounce.

Especially on the road. Gotta plan accordingly. Buy some Biltong, raw almonds, or Rx bars. Or make your own jerky.

Haha. I’m like the last guy in my hunting buddies group who doesn’t cold plunge or sit in a sauna every day.

I just don’t have the space for yet another chest freezer that I’ve converted to a homemade cold plunge

 

wanna get healthy? fuckabuncha cold plunges....sleep well.

sleep well and your life will improve exponentially.

This. I started using a CPAP a little over a year ago. Within a few months my blood pressure dropped to “that of an athletic teenager” as my doctor put it. Mood and cognition, both improved. I wish I had done it sooner!

I sleep great. On purpose. It’s a massive part of being healthy. My general rule is no food 3hrs before bed, no water 2hrs before bed, and no screens 1hr before bed.

My hunting buddies who cold plunge are also all in as good or better shape than I am. They say it helps with circulation, mental clarity, and metabolism. It is also allegedly good for reducing the visceral fat around your internal organs, which is supposed to be a pretty good proxy for longevity.

Every single one of them hates it. But they do it anyway. Solidly strong, healthy, energetic dudes the lot of em.

 

i hate being cold so I do not participate, but I would think the adrenalin released from a cold plunge would certainly help with ones mental health.

 

I'm doing just that starting tomorrow, through Sunday morning. Sharing too much whiskey and too many cigars with a bunch of codgers makes for a nice weekend.
