To start, sorry I had a typo in the title.

So, I found some posts in this forum where people were looking to upgrade their bumpstop for one reason or another. Not one of those posts did I find someone who took their truck offroading.

I've had a 3.5 inch lift with Ironman4x4 for about 2-3 years now (zero issues). If there's a trail in SoCal, 9/10 I've been on it. I take my dogs with me who experience some serious chaos in the bed of the trunk (I put dog beds back there so it's not too hard on them). To make the ride more comfortable for them, the family and to protect to longevity of the frame, etc what bumpstops do y'all recommend?

I don't do any type of rock crawling, and I don't want hydraulic bumpstops.

I've been looking at Wheelers and they have a lifetime warranty and seem pretty stout. I haven't seen anyone on here who use the Wheelers offroad bumpstops but they look pretty good. 20241012_092553.jpg

lol pretty sure I’ve posted about bump stops and offroad… formerly on durobump upfront and threw in Perry parts to test. So far so good

Hmm...I've seen posts where those are mentioned but they seem like there's too much squish. Good to know they are working for your application.

Perry parts and don't look back if you don't want to do hydros. I have all 4 in the front replaced with perry parts and they have been phenomenal on road and offroad as well. Harsh impacts offroad are probably 50-60% less harsh.

If you aren't too rough off road, cheap option is the wheelers superbumps. I ran those on front of my Tacoma in past. Have 1 per side now on tundra front, kept 1 oem per side. Sort of a 2 stage bumpstops that way. I only messed with fronts, not sure how well they do at rear axle.

If you have 3.5 lift, you may want shims under bumpstops depending on whether your shocks risk bottoming internally before bumpstops hit fully. I shimmed mine with just a washer and i only have about 2.8 lift.
The superbumps squish easier than oem but are tall to engage sooner so they slow the hit more gradually.

I've decided to give Perry parts a shot.

Yeah I was thinking about doing what you just stated but I haven't thought about the shims. I overlooked that part about bottoming out internally.

While I was drafting this response, I called ironman4x4 and they said there is an internal bumpstop within the FoamCell Pros (which I have) which makes sense why I haven't had any problem with my suspension rocking stock bumpstops.

This! I have Perry parts on all four corners on the 4runner and the front mixed with wheelers bump stops on the tundra. Game changer in ride quality.

    Haven’t seen the Perry’s, but I’m guessing if Rey hasn’t destroyed them…

I’m more of an occasional trail romper, and have been very happy with my Durobumps up front and hydros in the rear. The hydros were an investment, but soooo nice when you hit ‘em.
