    Definitely. We avoided the pacific northwest storm on our way back to MN, that’s how we ended up going south and visiting the Grand Canyon. But doing so, we encountered strong wind for about 27 hours. Really tough when driving a brick like my sprinter.

    We drove through New Mexico on Tuesday and my left shoulder was really sore from crosswind when I parked at FlyingJ in Texas after 10.5 hrs of driving.

    The next day crosswind was even worse through Texas on US 54 East with it being a single lane highway.The wind and debris from the semis was really annoying.

    Then it shifted to headwind as we got on I35 North. My mpg dropped like a rock.

    That was a punishing 15.5 hrs of just driving time.

    But through all of that, Arthur stayed composed and never complained. Such a great travel companion. I can’t ask for a better pup.

    Wow. I guess I should consider us lucky.

    Next time I’ll just bring tire socks and brave the mountain passes in UT and CO.
