I have a 24 Platinum, are the side mirror cameras supposed to come on and show the side of the truck and trailer when towing and making a right or left turn?

I think that might be something on the GM's trailer camera settings. I am investigating that system now.

Yes. The Sierra definitely does that.

So I took the trailer out for a test spin with the Z71 this afternoon. I roughly mounted the rear trailer camera and tried it out. The camera view is great and super clear. Then there is a choice to show the mirror cameras and the trailer camera in the same view. This was cool to see the sides and the back of the trailer, then when the turn signals are used the side mirror cam flips to full screen and once finished turning the view goes back to the 3 cams. This is pretty nice.

I still have to setup the transparent trailer but expect that to be a bit of a novelty. The trailer cam integration is nice but is also hardwired so there is complications with that over time. Not sure if I prefer bluetooth over hardwired but I am happy to lose one of my trailer screens (Voyager Camera monitor).

That mirror camera view is cool. Would much rather have that on the Tundra than that silly trailer back up assist.

You can press the View button on the dash and see it at any speed but it is time sensitive . Also you can set it when you stop at an intersection or go slow enough ( I turned that off, found it annoying )
