I owned my truck for a month before I realized I didn't even have the air dam and I'm glad I don't. I can't see it helping that much and one more thing to break or get in the way when under the truck.

I'm keeping mine. Salesman told me that this, coupled with the acoustic glass, is good for an additional 12.254 MPGs!!

$150. Being first on market, you get to set the price. :monocle:

Waiting for someone to reverse engineer it and do it for less.

Don’t know what all the fuss is about with these air dams. Let it do its thing, and if it ever breaks just defeat it.

The Air Dam is on the CanBus, when unplugged it causes a CEL (check engine light). So one can not simply unplug.

As to why one would eliminate this Air Dam, it is mounted on the front crash bar behind the shield of a plastic bumper. Those that would like to upgrade the bumper need to remove the crash bar, thus no mount point. Also with the upgraded bumper, a person may opt for a winch which takes up current space occupied by said crash bar.

Did you get to install this, and if yes, how is it working so far? Thank you.

I have a 2023 1794 with active air dam. The motor on mine went weird and didnt work once in awhile.
Brought it to the dealership and they replaced the motor that drops it down.

I went the route of.... less is more. Meaning I disabled it.
That translates to... I unplugged the module, wrapped it up from the weather and used a few zip ties to keep the air dam tucked up.

I have ZERO errors on my dash about it. In fact the only error I ever got was when it wasnt deploying correctly.
Its been a number of months and zero issues with it being disabled.

Far easier to leave the motor alone and plugged in and just remove the spoiler itself.

yeah its easy to take apart. In my garage if I remove it, years later its a problem finding it.
For me just unplugging it and protect the connectors was simple enough.

I also didnt want the wear and tear of the device somewhat in use.

Just because the plastic dam is not connected doesnt mean that the motor doesnt activate everytime you go past 20 mph.

It worked great for the duration of my ownership. I trade that truck (2022) for a 2023...

I have a full CBI front bumper and because I had a winch I had to delete my Air dam motor. I have the CBI delete installed. Works well and without issues been about a year with it.
