Oh, and don't speed, OV cops are notorious for funding the town. I got pulled over and given a ticket for flashing my lights as I was working, for the post office. Yes, they gave me (the mailman) a ticket.

Speaking of traffic stuff, for a state with 7 millionish people, I was always shocked at how many fatal accidents there were. There was an intersection where I lived in Surprise, Reems & Greenway, that felt like there was a serious car accident there on a weekly basis. I don't know if it was the retiree's, snow birds or people just generally driving drunk but it seemed to happen a lot.

My parents moved to Prescott from L.A. in 2018, the weather was great but every time they needed a Dr, they were in my house. I was shocked that my Dad, a guy who researched everything forgot to look into the availability of medical services for over 70 people.

that kind of stuff is a concern, as I will be bringing my mom out with us (lost me dad recently). I was thinking I would build her a little side building type deal on my lot.

Definitely the nicer part of town. Plenty of shopping, food and a nice hospital there (My Mom just retired form working there).

You have Catalina State Park and Mt Lemon to the east of you  There isn't a whole lot north once you cross Tangerine Rd, just couple of nice golf communities.

It is pretty true that certain doctors (urologists, pulmonologists) are hard to find and way booked out in Prescott. But the area is growing quickly and it seems that is getting better over the past couple years.

I'm fortunate to be a Veteran and use the VA up here which helps me. But my retired parents here do have a few doctor's visits a year down in Scottsdale which is approximately 90 min away. They still seem to feel it's worth the drive to enjoy our weather all year, versus living in the hellscape that is Phoenix, to save drive time for doctor's visits.

Dad was a vet, he used the VA for basics but he was 85 when they moved there & most of his needs required private Drs (he died of lung cancer) he sold health insurance for 60 years so had great insurance but obviously, the Drs are where they are.

thats the case in a lot of areas, even around here which has everything you can think of and shit load of it.

still hard to find specialists at times, etc. its an overall health care system thing at the momnet

but I don't want to get too far into the weeds with that, but that was a good thing to bring up for my search in making sure there are hospitals and some doctors near

    thanks guys

Was talking about my dad today. Its been 7.5 years and in some ways seems way longer - in most ways still feels fresh. He only got to see the truck in stock form - he would dig where it’s at now. And call me a dumbass for all the stupid shit we do with it.

Sorry for your loss, my Dad thought vehicles were transport appliances, never understood my love of modding/cars but we connected elsewhere, coming up on 4 years in October. I miss him, still when I see something he'd like & for a split second think of calling. :(

The Vail area is very nice. Great school district if you got kids. I moved out here over 13 years ago from Illinois as well. I looked at that area then, it's very nice. Larger lots and beautiful homes. It was a bit more than I wanted or needed at the time, I ended up about two miles west of there across the wash. Be advised that this area is growing quickly, both residential and commercial. And Tucson keeps expanding E/B into the Vail area. Lots more homes and traffic now but nothing like Marina, OV. The plus is two new hospitals within a 20 minute drive and all the connivences that you are used to in Illinois (almost). Southern AZ is nice. Still in shorts and t-shirts. Good luck.

I see a bunch like this tighter to the city, 825k and your neighbors are right up your ass, no thanks

it seems if you go out a little bit more on the outskirts you get more for your money and way more space

.25 acres for that much cheese , wow
