Just remembered I have a really old Spyderco in my tool box that I had in storage for several years.

I'm not a collector so correct me if I'm wrong but I believe what I have here is an Endura 2 :sawzall:
    20241105_224951.jpg 20241105_223914.jpg 20241105_223956.jpg

I gotta sharpen this thing as it's really dull.

Since you really don’t collect Spydercos, why not send it my way? Lol

Yesterday afternoon I came across this PM 2 somewhat local (about an hour away) and I was able to meet the guy before he sold it. He wanted $80 and was firm on price and I had no problem agreeing to this price since the knife looks like it was never used.
In fact the clip was still in the factory tip down placement. It was a little dusty but I couldn’t find any flaws with it. I was actually looking for a Manix 2 and wasn’t really looking for a PM2 but when I saw this pop up, I had to message the guy to see if it was real. I’m pretty happy I scored this deal. He had it listed as Multi Tool so it wouldn’t get flagged.
This is the 7th Spyderco in the last few weeks. My first was a flawless never used factory second PM3 with black G10 and black blade which I got for $90. Then I got a New PM3 CruCarta for $150 and 4 Byrds Robin 2 Stainless and a Meadowlark 2 Stainless for $20 each and a Cara Cara 2 Lightweight Wharnecliffe and a Harrier 2 Lightweight Wharnecliffe for $18 each. I know that’s a lot over a short time, but I think I would regret it if I let the deals pass me up.

I'll except is as a donation or a gift?
    Just Kidding.
Brand new they are currently selling for around $125. Since it is pretty used, I would guess maybe 1/3 of that price depending on who really wanted it.

I could be totally wrong in my estimate. I just based it on what prices I’m seeing lately.

This little knife took a lot of work. I skeletonized the tang to keep the weight down and the file work was tedious. First time I’ve done this pattern. The steel is 15n20 and 1084 carbon alloy mosaic Damascus IMG_2080.jpg IMG_2081.jpg IMG_2083.jpg IMG_2084.jpg

The blade is about 2 5/8” long IMG_2087.jpgA good size for an edc.
I still need to make a sheath though.

Such a personal preference thing, for certain. Seems like there’s a higher percentage of people who prefer smaller blades to the big ones. For an edc, I know that I do. 3” to 4” blades sure seem to be the sweet spot for hunter/skinner blades.
The preference for design and size specifics with kitchen cutlery is even more subjective and personal. It’s a lot of fun to work with people and get the exact knife in their hand that they want.

Twisted Damascus from 15n20 & 1084 carbon alloy steel. Scales are maroon linen micarta. My plan is to use this one until or unless it sells. It’s basically the design of the knife that I use dozens of times a year for butchering here on the place IMG_2112.jpg IMG_2111.jpg IMG_2110.jpg IMG_2108.jpg IMG_2109.jpg

This little knife is an experiment; it’s got a mosaic tile (mostly) pattern on one side of the blade and ball bearings (mostly) on the other side. Turned out kinda nice. Another thing about these, the small knife sheaths are made at an angle so that they will ride in front of your front trouser pocket without any interference whatsoever when you use the pocket.IMG_2117.jpg IMG_2116.jpg IMG_2115.jpg IMG_2113.jpg IMG_2114.jpg

Completed with my sheath work for now and back to making steel. Included a couple pictures here of how the angle of the sheath works at the pocket. It’s about a 45* angle and also allows you to squat down or sit in a chair without a problem IMG_2106.jpg IMG_2103.jpg IMG_2104.jpg IMG_2120.jpg IMG_2121.jpg

So I needed with it a bit but found that everything is so old all the connections are really brittle so it is going to a friend's dad that collects and fixes old transistor radios.i chatted with him in the phone he is really excited to get his hands on it.

He lives across the state he said he wasn't sure until he gets his hands on it. He does have a ton of experience with radios of his era. So I'm really hopefull.
