Dude we pulled a working pizza oven out of an Italian place and it was loaded with live roaches. Oven would normally operate at 500+

When I had roaches in my first TX apartment, cold is what drove them to a warm place. Turn the heat down in the winter and kill them after they rush to the heat condenser coil on the back of the fridge. They just need a warm area to migrate to when it’s cold outside. Either that or used compressed air to blow them out. I haven’t tried that method though.

What kind of roaches? If German roaches, the skinny orangish-brown ones, get that fucking stove out STAT, because the entire house will be overrun soon, theyre NOT cheap to get rid of. These fuckers are a bane to existence. My best friend carried them across 3 rental houses. I have tips for control, but ... fuck man. Get it out and start treating ASAP, it only takes a few days for them to establish.

IMG_4140.jpg My wife is pretty short and has a little difficulty getting in and out of the Tundra. Purchased a set of 5” iboards and installed them today. Installation was not difficult and they are quite sturdy. Overall, happy with their appearance and functionality.

Man that grill looks fantastic! What's with the more pronounced body lines on the hood? That an AC thing or an optical illusion? never noticed before.

I think it may be shadows accentuating the body line, casting a shadow. Or the sports grille making the front have less lines, look more angular. Not sure.

I have a great bait solution that will fuck em up. But best course of action is to never get the damn things.

I wouldn’t personally do it. I would take it to the backyard, tarp it, and bomb it 3-4 times, every other day. But pin the tarp to the ground so they can’t escape, and move to your house as their new residence. Fuck German cockroaches. Those things are evil as hell dude. And screw the storage place, they really screwed you!

The vanity mirror LEDs arrived and I installed them. Holy smokes, they're bright! You can really see the difference in the second photo where the passenger vanity still has the incandescent.

Just to give you an idea of how bad those little fuckers can get, check this from Reddit. That can happen in just a couple months once they get inside a house that's heated. Here's the OP's explanation on that, does this story sound familiar?

    upload_2024-11-27_11-11-30.png
This is why I say, "don't even give them a chance to get in your place and get started". They are aggressive breeders, are really thin so they can just hang out/hide in cracks you can't even see, and reproduce up to 48 per female, per time. They live up to 6 months as adults, and I want to say they can create several eggs per adult lifespan? It can get bad, quick. They can't survive without heat like @Jack McCarthy mentioned. Which is why, if cold/freezing weather comes, they'll recloate to the house. So if you have cold weather snap coming, you don't want it near your house b/c they relocate to heat, but bombing prior away from the house may deal with the problem, and prolonged freeze may kill any eggs in their egg capsules. I dunno what the hatch cycle is on these guys, but you'd want to bomb, leave it tarped outside, then bomb it again in 4 weeks to kill off anything that was still in-egg (and is now nymph) when you bombed the first time. If I were you and intent on getting that stove into the house, I'd grab any bomber/fogger from the store from Raid, HotShot, whatever.

Look, I'm not a specialist here, I recommend deferring to more-expert folks, but I do handle my own pest control. We do have roaches periodically, but we've thankfully never had German roaches. You're in your 1st home now. You may want to get hip on insect control, especially if you intend to eventually move the oven inside. MGC makes some of the best products you can buy. I typically use Vendetta, it's cockroach bait ("IGR"/growth regulator, not insecticide) that prevents roaches from reaching adult stage, so they can't lay eggs. Here's the stuff I buy, IGR for the long-game, which is not what you need for the oven, you need insecticide for the oven. But it's something you can safely apply today in nooks behind appliances, cabinets, under vanities, places you see roaches or roach poop in the house. Note where you apply, check back every so often, reapply if gone.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Seal anything with lots of cracks and crevices before putting in storage. You can buy the big rolls of visqueen/saran almost anywhere, and easily wrap stuff airtight. I do this when I store appliances that won't fit in the kitchen, like my dehydrator.

I had the city pick up the whole oven this morning and throw it in the dump

It was fairly cold at the end of the house that it was nearest too. I hope those mother fuckers didn't relocate like you said they do

Either way, good time to start with a treatment regimen. It's never too late to get started on an IGR bait system. Honestly, the link to that Reddit post on how to deal with roach infestation is also a great guide to get started with your bug control regimen, where you do an initial treatment with Alpine WSG, and applying Vendetta IGR baits around the house to nerf stuff.

Yup, you're right. I looked, and it appears the only drum part they make is the OEM drum brake wheel cylinder. At least for our '06es. Interesting they (Aisin/Advics) make the diff actuator(s) and I also noticed they make the window motors and regulators too. Who knew?!

They also make the door latch for certain models of our trucks. I bought the bottom door latch for my AC off Rockauto (made by Aisin). Pretty good quality obviously.
