My SR5 has a handy parcel shelf on the passenger's side of the dash directly in front of the passenger. You'll notice that the pic of a Capstone interior that was recently posted has what appears to be a wooden insert where the shelf is on the SR5. Is this piece hinged, or pop out for access to the shelf? It seems a shame that a handy item like this shelf would not exist in higher trim levels (my wife likes to stash her sunglasses there). capstone interior.jpg

Yes, it's gone from trims above SR5.

It's not really a parcel shelf, but more like a long cubby. And it is very handy.

You can see the shelf, or part of it (to the right of the screen), in this pic of an SR5 dash.

I think of this when I think of a parcel shelf.
It must be a pretty big shelf in that Gen 3 dashboard...:eek2::eek:

My '72 Mercury Comet had a parcel shelf instead of a glove box. Was a very convenient place to put my amplifier that I wanted to make sure everyone knew I had.:headbang:

Negative sir. Not on the new ones.
(You're in the 3rd Gen forum....)

TRD Pro based on the Limited trim.
Limited and above trim levels = no cubby/shelf/sunglass holder area for the missus.

I disliked the shelf in my SR5 at first, but looking at other trucks without it makes me like it even more. Just adds more lines to the aesthetics.
