I decided to post this to hopefully help anyone installing a new aftermarket headlight assembly. I finally installed my blackout headlights with clear corners about a week ago and they didn't mount evenly. I used 2 rubber washers as spacers where the inside bolt attaches on both sides to get the headlight assemblies to sit even. I also wallowed out the holes on the top screw mounting point to get it to fit. PXL_20241116_204030412.jpg
There still was a lip that stuck out on the corner lights on both sides.
    PXL_20241116_201136952.jpg
I drove for a week with this and then figured out how to get them to sit flush. I filed down the long plastic piece that inserts into the fender.
    PXL_20241116_203821240.jpg
The headlight assemblies now sit flush on both sides.

Are those the really cheap ones on Amazon for like $60?
Cus mine didn't fit either on the passenger side. ended up snapping a clip off it, so I just zip tied it down.

my headlights are shit lol. might be doing the projector upgrade, dunno if I care enough yet
or if I'm even able to adjust them since I ziptied it lol

Mine are probably the same ones from the same factory. I ordered these off eBay for $96 and now I see the price is down $90.

I did the mini-projector LED install which of course requires removing the metal shroud and those are working well. I'll take some photos to show the thick rubber washers on each headlight that I used to get them to mount evenly. I'll be installing LED blinkers shortly and I'll take a few pics to show all of this better then.

I’ve had no issues using the CAPA certified lights from Rock Auto.

If I were doing it again with what I know now, I would likely have done what you did and ordered the CAPA certified headlights. I ordered my headlights before I even had finished the purchase of my truck so I hadn't done enough research at that point. However, no real problems so far with these blacked out headlights. I treated them with Turtle wax Hybrid ceramic spray immediately upon install and a few more times since then. Hopefully prevents any discoloring or distortion of the clear plastic

Both headlight assemblies did not mount evenly and contact on all 3 mount points when initially installed on the truck . I used 3 stacked rubber washers on the mount between the headlight and the corner light. I also now see that I need to tighten the bolt another turn or two.

The body line alingment issue (hood to light) with the DC really harshes my OCD. Like, c'mon Toyota, couldn't you not have it jag like that?

Because someone else on here pointed it out to me this past year, and I never noticed it before, and I can't seem to un-see it now.
