Got the daughter's tree fixed yesterday. New battery and a new positive terminal. Cleaned up the ends and the neg terminal. Started right up. It's missing the tie down though.



Filled up the vic today. 15.9 gal for a total of 14.8 mpg this tank. I filled up in Clovis NM while I was getting some stuff a few weeks ago so about 100 miles of this is around 20 mpg, so I get around 10-11 mpg in town. Sheesh.

 

well after 7 years of xm radio and having a broken antenna when I bought the truck I was gonna throw on a short antenna but I'm not sure how to go about getting the old broken antenna off. Tried to unscrew the silver cap but was didn't try too hard cause I didn't wanna slip and scratch the paint. Tried clamping the black middle part but it wouldn't unscrew either. Anyone have an oem antenna with a picture by chance?

Update. Removing the "dome " fuse causes the tripometers and clock to zero out every time I turn the key off, so I put the fuse back in.

 

The best thing to do with those bolt on battery terminals is to wrap your index finger around it, hold it way back behind your head, then throw it as far as you can. They cause nothing but problems. I consider them a very temporary fix for a few days until I can solder an end on the cable or replace the entire cable.

Anyone else’s scangauge done this before? The °F and M in MPH were both some weird symbol. Functioned normally otherwise. Wtf?

I don't recall ever having mine do that. Did you try cycling the monitors to see if it did it on any others or if it went back to normal when you got back to those ones? Maybe unplug it and plug in back in?

I monitor the same stuff, except it do intake air temp (IA°F) instead of MPH.

I did this myself on my Tacoma. But my 03 will needs a new rear bumper some day, so I'll save that to cart. Plus it'll free up some space and clean things up.

Are those bumper LED's connected to the back up lights or what? Do they glow white?

 

On my Tacoma they were connected to the back up lights. On my Tundra, the PO connected em to a switch.
All white.

 

I would run them with parking light diodes so they could both switched, and reverse lights. It's doable.

 

That would be neat.
I really want to figure out how to have a switch for my ditch lights, fogs anytime, and then have em all come on when I hit the high beams.

 

Easy, your switches are ground activated? Yeah?
