Because I can't stare at anymore code today, who's ready for Rampage? I had wanted to make a run out there for the weekend but I will now be stuck in an airplane. I'll have to settle for the Red Bull feed when I get home.

This is so crazy! I was just telling a co worker that we need to reserve our conference room so we can watch the live feed on Friday the 27th. We will just call it a strategic planning meeting.

One year, I've got to get out there for it. Just like big line skiers, these guys are not human.

Let's make it happen. My co worker would also go. He is a good friend who used to work at a local bike shop Adventure Cycling and is an avid DH rider.

I think I only got 5 days in this summer on the DH bike. Couple at Winter Park and a handful at Keystone. Definitely not enough.

Been to that event a few times. It's unreal in person. I worked for Mavic for years, so we had lots of athletes there to support. Hope all stay safe during the comp.

It was awesome. I ran Customer Service for them for 9 years. Unfortunately, after the move to Utah, I did not decide to follow, and wanted to stay in NH.

Ever been out this way to ride? My home ride spot is Highland Mountain Bike Park, and Thunder Mountain. Didnt ride much there this year, but next year will be sick.

Still in the industry or doing something different?

Have never ridden anything on the east coast. Would be fun to do something different.

Those are some crazy MF'ers. Fun to watch though. I saw a documentary on Netflix a couple of years ago that had some awesome footage of riding like that. I think it was called Where the trail ends.

Where the Trail ends is a phenomenal movie, fun to watch those guys ride different zones all over the world. Rampage is a different animal, the best of the best going huge, and usually doing a few things never seen before (like McGazza's back flip over the canyon gap?!?). Bummed that Aggy is out this year though.

I hear you there, I think I touched my DH bike 3 or 4 times this summer. Having 3 kids under the age of 3 1/2 will do that to you. Missed out on my annual trip to Whistler. Always wanted to hit up Winter Park, is it worth a road trip from Oregon?

That's a great movie. All of those guys are legends. Another good one to check out is Life Cycles.

Cam Zink usually throws some insanity too. Curious to see how Berrecloth will do this year.

Damn. 3 under 3 1/2? As a head's up, it doesn't slow down. It just turns into a different kind of busy. :D

Winter Park is fun. Trails are buffed and built well. More man made features than natural. It can get crowded. Keystone is almost a polar opposite. Trails are longer with more natural obstacles. Far less crowded. Biggest difference between the two is that Winter Park runs 3-4 lifts in the summer where Keystone only does one. They are pretty close together though so there wouldn't be anything stopping you from riding both places.

    Awesome, I'll check it out.

I'm only 28 but the last 5 years of working too much and being in the welding trade have not been kind to me. I need to get back in shape. I bought a Specialized Rockhopper hard tail this summer to get back on the dirt. I can't ride like I used to but it's still a blast.

Lol, yeah not a bad idea. I may look into doing that next season. Riding season is almost over here, so I'll be picking up one of those resistance trainers I can mount the bike in and ride in my basement over winter. Cheaper than a spin bike.

Luckily I can round outdoors almost year round. Trails can be a little tricky in the winter but most are still ridable. On the days where the roads are a total sloppy mess, I get on the rollers in the basement but I try to be outside as often as possible.

I've got maybe a month left. Then we'll have temps down to -20C, probably a foot or two of snow on the ground and the trails will be inaccessible. :(

Meh. Calgary ain't so bad. The weather there is usually really mild, especially when they get a chinook coming through. Come up to Grande Prairie in Dec or Jan. :D
