Would love BC but don't have kind of money....lol. Also, I'm based out of Edmonton for work. I'm moving 15min west, helping ease the pain is that the new place has a solid workshop so at least I'm not going without :)

Slab was formed 20'-1" wide x 24'-1" deep and inside measurements are a touch more than a foot less accounting for the wall section (2x6) and o/h doors. I can get the exact measure if you need. It's a nice size to work in for a city garage, fits a 20' long vehicle comfortably with room to walk/work around

Yeah, that's a nice size. I think my garage is 20' x 22', meaning it's "20 feet" deep and "22 feet wide", meaning my truck doesn't fit.

yeah 20' deep just isn't quite enough, especially for winter months where keeping the door open isn't a great option.

I initially had a 20' deep pad that the builder poured but I took it out and poured a larger pad. While I was at it, I went with 32Mpa (w micro fibre and hardener additives), 7.5" slab with 3/4" rebar chaired, a 3.5" curb all around with a dedicated row of rebar. Slab thickens to 12" around perimeter. Door thresholds are finished in 1/4" HDG checker. Overall spec is pretty industrial. Slab is hefty enough to probably move the whole garage to my new place. lol

    Lots of stuff!
Today I posted a bunch of ads in the Vancouver CL. It was tough to pull all my goodies off the Tundra but hopefully I will be able to keep some of it for the new truck.

If there is anyone in the West looking for add-ons for the infamous Gen 3’s feel free to reach out.

That's a beautiful house, and that price makes me cry in Toronto tears.

I think RCSB doesn't have off-set between driver and passenger, but if you want, you can have my old exhaust for free, I'd rather it go to a good home vs sitting in storage.

I get home late in 2 days. I'll take a pic of the muffler then and send it. Curious to see if it matches yours. Usually I'd just drive over
and pick it up, with gratitude. But, I'm thinking that's a bit of a drive.

Maybe shipping won't be so bad via UPS.

Hey all, thought I'd give a shout as a buyer in the market for a 1st gen Tundra, preferably in decent condition 4x4 v8, located in Vancouver. If anyone knows of someone or is selling one, feel free to shoot me a message or reply! Thanks :)

Hey Jon, thanks for the warm welcome! Definitely been checking all the platforms (marketplace, craigslist, kijiji), seeing mostly either 2 wheel drives or first gens that require a bit more work on top of a hefty price. Appreciate the shout and help, might just consider opening up my search to a wider range.

I've found a stock muffler online for ridiculous money but still cheaper than a whole system and to be honest
stock works best for me. I have noticed on the RCSB the muffler is literally directly below the cab/box gap. So sitting
in the rain it means the muffler is getting water directly onto it continually. So my plan is to High Heat paint the new
muffler ( I always paint my entire exhausts with HH paint, for what it's worth it works to some extent ).
I also will fab up a nice tin shield just like any kind of heat shield to go directly above to keep it protected
from above as well as below and inside.

Oh boy, that first 06 out in North Cowichan looks better than 99% of the ones I've seen so far. Might have to consider shooting them a message, appreciate the find!
The second 06 out in Surrey seems like it might be a 2wd? not sure if it's indicative by the non 4x4 badge? Correct me if i'm wrong, would love to know.

Another clean tundra out in Nanaimo, not surprised it already sold. People on the island are definitely keeping them in way better conditions, there's a particular 05 tundra on the Vancouver marketplace for 10k that has a baaaad rusty frame.

I will look at the N Cow truck again. I'll see how far it is from here. If you like it enough let me know. I sent a message to text me, I can probably just do a drive by and look for surprises that might be. I doubt it, most people are pretty honest and this has lots of pics

EDIT: @ztoj I’m gonna look at this truck in N Cow in the morning. I’m kinda curious. I’ll know something by 10:30

@ztoj - the truck is clean. Rust is minimal on the frame and other usual bad spots. The bed is Line-X'd. It has
that tonneau that hasn't been off in years either. The pics cover the body well enough. Headlights are definitely
hazy. Interior is ok, some stains under drivers right leg, not sure how that happened but overall interior is
    in good shape.
Red Flags: As much as bragged it's the million mile motor. Claimed that Nanaimo dealer did most of the maintenance.
When asked said he'd authorize release of dealer records to you if you asked. So you can get all the maintenance
directly if you want. BUT, when pressed about the timing belt he had no clue. Owned it for over 15 yrs. Too many
miles to not have been done, but without knowing I'd be crazy scared to drive it very far without getting that done
as it's zero clearance. Engine looked good, no leaks. Dusty. New battery. Muffler he said is 1 yr but must be the
cheapest muffler on the planet, rustier than Teri's 98 RAV4 and it's original. Cats' look ok.
    TPMS sensors need replacing.
The electronic switch to 4HI worked, I could hear the actuator cycle it thru. NO 4LO at all. Nothing happened when I
hit the switch. He claimed to have never used it. That makes me nervous, that's an unknown to get working
    and or repaired.
It's nice. I'd think you could find one bit better. But this one is ready to drive and it's owned by a 65+ year old man.
Never been abused, mishandled and apparently the wife drove it the most. Tires are new, wheels are nice.

Man, thank you for that! I would love to send you a coffee or something. Honestly, I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to help me. (Feel free to privately message me your email/number or something if you're comfortable, and I can shoot a gift card over easily :]). It's moments like these when I appreciate the experts I can learn from.

Very interesting—I figured the exterior is as seen, with definite bumps and scrapes on the front bumper and other areas. I had a hint that something might be wrong with the interior when they didn't post pictures of it.

Yikes! From all I've learned so far, it seems like the timing belt is a no-brainer. For a vehicle kept that long within the replacement range, him not knowing is definitely a red flag.

Big LOL on the muffler—hahaha—it must be his idea of maintenance, I guess.
4LO not working also seems worrisome. A quick search shows that sometimes the wiring might be loose, but you're definitely right about the unknowns.

Overall, not terrible, but not amazing. Again, I absolutely appreciate your help!

What would you value this vehicle at in the current market?

I appreciate the offer. Just a spontaneous decision to help, no quid pro quo required. I don't think I'd buy this truck, it has
lived outside forever. No garage. I got the distinct feeling the maintenance just wasn't a priority. I am not the guy to ask about
valuations. I'm too much of a emotional idiot when I see what I like. I think my best advice is find 3 trucks you like and go
on Carfax site thru ICBC site where you get a deal on 3 VIN's and get a proper Carfax.

    You are awesome.
I have the feeling you're absolutely right, seems like his maintenance and upkeep isn't very similar to what I have in mind or would like.
Ah, good shout on that, I'll definitely look into that route for a carfax, already plan on getting a PPI for any I'm ready to consider at the very least.

How are you liking your 2nd gen tundra? I've considered that as an option as well since I've seen more postings for that, but honestly think I find it a little too big for my needs.

If you want smaller, then I'd be looking squarely at Tacoma. Huge market, and there is a reason they are so popular.
Its the trade off of that collector rig that works, and everything else.
Might seem silly, but I wanted to be in something bigger just for safety. Kind of defensive fighting back from being
annihilated in a crash by full size truck. ICBC statistic, for what it's worth, 52% higher chance of dying in a crash
with a full size truck if you're not in a full size truck. Not to mention, average bumper height is now 40"? looking
straight out any window at that was partly the reason.
2nd Gen are pretty nice. I'm on my 2nd now. 2wd RCLB to this 4wd RCSB. I don't like 4 dr pick ups. Never have.
I have 2 SUV Land Cruisers, so want / need to haul wood and garden haulage without trailering. Cruisers will
never see road salt again. I want to head up into the West Kootenays before holidays, so this meets that need too.

Yeah, a lot of Tacomas on the market, considered and still am considering one if I can't find a tundra, I believe the 1st gen tundra is comparable in size, but with a bigger engine so thought i'd opt to try for that first.

Ah, I totally understand that, getting annihilated by a full size truck is not the way, 100% better to be in a full size if it were to happen again but let's hope not, fingers crossed, knock on wood..
The second gen tundras do seem really nice and well built, just can't seem to get over possibly having to park on the sidewalk or something over here in the lower mainland city streets but maybe a smaller truck could ease me into one in the future, who knows. You've seem to got the options and I'm glad to hear it works for you.

City driving makes a huge difference. Lots of full size but smaller definitely easier. I can attest to RCSB is 2’ shorter than RCLB. Parking is significantly easier. Length to park is a bigger factor than width in my opinion. The single doors are huge which are a whole new issue & pain in the ass. Small doors really help. There is a T100 2 door 8’ box I saw on FB. I think it’s in Victoria. Smaller 3L engine but kinda cool truck.

I saw a second gen recently that just fit nicely in an underground parking lot, must have been the RCSB. The massive doors being an issue is something I wouldn't have thought about, but wow, good to know. What issue's do you face with the big doors, squeezing in and out of spots? anything else perhaps?
I absolutely agree with you, length is definitely the major factor, whether or not you'd even fit in a parallel spot. The older trucks definitely have the more classic "truck" look which I can appreciate.

For all who are cross border shopping. So that's almost all of us??
I just ordered a set of Morimoto XB LED for the 2010 Tundra. Was in email contact with the sales guy there in the US.
He told me to wait for Black Friday, Nov 23. So I did and sure enough I go to Morimoto.com and sign in and start looking.
Turned out, of the 200+ headlight sets the 2007-2013 headlights don't make the grade for Black Friday. I was a bit
pissed. Isn't that the whole idea of waiting? Anyhow I ordered them and they were on backorder anyhow.
I was trolling the web and crossed over into a Canadian parts place.
    partsengine.ca
    tdotperformance.ca
These both sell the major US brands. Despite the grossly inflated looking prices it turns out they are only
slightly more expensive than buying from south of the border.
Essentially these headlights with 20% BF sale come out to $800 US. After ordering from partsengine.ca they come
out to about $885 US after the 20% BF pricing here. They ship free in Canada, we know how valuable that is in
Canada. To be honest I save hundreds more compared to buying from US cause they ship free in the US but as soon
as they cross the border, oh crap it gets expensive! Not to mention broker fees the couriers charge despite denying that.
Then we have to calculate exchange and pony up the bucks in Canadian exchange prices.

So anyhow, fer christ's sake look back into Canada before you hit 'cart - buy now' south of the border.
Just my .02C and hope it helps someone else get what they want and still save a few bucks.

So lets start a list, if anyone finds other online places 'they go to'! Post them up.
The next 4 yrs are gonna get expensive.

@Cruiserpilot I've ordered multiple times from partsengine (wheels, tires, bumper, fog lights, suspension) and they have always come through, no issues.

They shipped Purolator for most of my items, so orders ship quick if they don't have to special order.

Their prices fluctuate a bit, but they usually have sales and/or discount codes.

No experience with TDot except asking if they actually have an item in stock, that clearly shows "in stock" and they never had it (multiple times). Partsengine is my go-to.

I've ordered from these guys too. No problems.

^^^Cool. Thanks. I got a bunch of intercooler stuff from Tdotperformance a few years ago. Established a relationship with sales on the phone. It went well for me. Thanks for confirming the parts engine guys. I’ve already got an invoice and hope the lights ship soon. Got my new Toyo RT Trail tires today, should have them mounted up by end of the week.

I got my front bumper from CoastalOffroad. Haven’t had time to build that yet. I like it but to be honest they were childlike to deal with. Best person they have was the guy at the depot in Delta where I picked the thing up. The owner evaded me completely. Good product from what I’ve seen and heard.

That's too bad about Coastal but good to know. My purchase was smaller, just some Bumper Shims and Body Chop plates, so a simple click and buy.

Winnipeg HID seems like a really good source for lighting needs. Of all the websites I’ve been on this one is by far the most seamless.

Funnily enough, I just ordered something from Winnipeg HID for the first time, that’s due to arrive today. Service has been good so far!
