Turns out I ordered and installed the wrong Icons.....

    I ordered 58620's instead of 58625's. I installed SPC UCA's.

Has this happened to anyone? I could not find much information about the differences between the two.

If anyone in the Southern California area is looking for 2.5 Icons for stock UCA's, let me know. Maybe we can do a buy/trade deal. I've barley driven on them. Only been from the garage, to the alignment shop, and back.

Are they too stiff? Sounds like an accidental win.

They are a little stiff because they are 700# springs but they note a difference on their website between the two without an explanation.

If one is for aftermarket upper control arms and the other is for stock control arms, it’s probably a difference in travel length. The aftermarket UCAs likely have a longer stroke.

Your best bet is probably gonna be calling their tech support line. From what I hear they’re easy as can be to deal with. They can probably figure out if they’ll be problematic for you!

Unless the length is different for some reason, you could have a shop swap out the springs for a different spring rate

Is your truck a double cab, or access cab? Honestly, you might prefer the 700# springs once they wear in.

58620 is the standard travel coilover, safe to use with stock upper control arms.
58625 is the extended travel coilover, which requires the use of aftermarket control arms.

The difference is an internal spacer that limits the down travel on the standard travel variant (the 58620 you have). It's roughly a half inch of shaft travel that gets limited, so you're missing out on about 1" of wheel droop travel.

Your best bet is to call Icon, but being you ordered that variant you might be out of luck getting something swapped by them. Good news though is it really isn't much lost travel and any reputable shock rebuilder can remove that limiting spacer making your stock travel version the same as the extended travel 58625 version. Do that when it's time to have them rebuilt and you'll be good to go.

edit: there will be a part number printed on the coil spring somewhere, can use that to get your spring weight. Normally comes with 650# springs, but per the order request Icon can up them to 700# springs.

Good info. Thank you. I’ll look into it.
However, I believe they come with 700# springs via the website info. I’ll probably opt for 650#’s if/when I do the spacer removal too.

    thanks again.
