After market lift or level by chance? Oversized tires?

im trying to decide how far I can push this and maintain my warranty?

Looks like we are from the same region.

Glad to hear they took care of you.

I have AVS suspension and have the Westcott kit on order.

Looking at 35’s to go with that but have been nervous about how the local dealership will respond.

Sent an email to Spencer this morning. Heard from him in one hour (except three hour time zone difference). Gave him the truck info, he called to have a conversation, got the paperwork and link by email, clicked and paid single payment. Warranty documents 20 minutes later. Done and Done. Maybe 30 minutes total time. Super nice person. Would call him again if needed.
I did purchase the Platinum 10 year 115,000 mile for a very reasonable price. This warranty is accepted at ANY Toyota dealer in the US.
Now tomorrow may be hard as I have to try to cancel the existing aftermarket extended warranty that seems to be worthless at some dealers.
    Just some info.

My question, why would anyone get a the extended warranty until the factory warranty was about to expire, like 35 months or 35K miles, I understand if you were financing it.
I would want the warranty to start when the factory one was about to expire.

I have been told by my buddy who is a sales Manager at a Toyota dealership that the price goes up on the warranty the longer you wait to get it.

Yes, the economic principle is to always anticipate inflation. Prices always go up, never down. Get now and you know your price. Wait 2yrs and 11mos and it's gambling on how much the price increases vs your future purchasing power.

I think mileage at the time you purchase the extended warranty along with the 3 yr timeline is part of the equation. I'm on board for the purchase of the extended somewhere in the last six months of the factory 3yr/36K stipulation. Sitting now at 7500 (of which 90% has been towing) miles and 18 months so mileage won't be the factor that drives my purchase. We shall see, and so far other than the fuel hazard recall (which was not a big deal) I have had zero issues.

I am in the same position as you and will wait 3 to 6 months before my 36 month /60,000 km (basic warranty) and the 36 month/100,000 km (drivetrain warranty) expires. If I win the lottery in the meantime I may upgrade to a 2026 Gen 3.5 ;)

In Canada we don't have the exact same warranty coverage as the US. See screenshot below from Toyota Canada website. We only go up to 84 months/200,000 km (7 years/125,000 miles). Mileage won't be an issue so I am thinking of getting the 84/120,000 plan for less money than shown below. This will give me an extra 4 years of coverage. At the moment the cost is $3,329 CDN ($2,378 US) and I believe people are getting better deals than this for a 10 year warranty in the US (an extra 7 years which is awesome).

I also don't understand why we don't have the same warranty durations as the US. You would think by our sales volume which is only about 10% of what is sold in the US there would be far less warranty claims towards Toyota Corporate simply by volume. Oh well still proud to be :canada:

Note that hidden by the cost drop down in your screen shot is this statement

" Plans must be purchased within 31 days of vehicle warranty registration date."

In other words you can't wait to see how the reliability might be, you have to buy it shortly after you take possession of the truck.

I thought that was the case as well but my buddy who is the Sales Manager at our local dealership said nope. You can purchase long after the 31 days are over so long as you purchase before the factory warranty is up. He couldn't give me an exact price to do it when I bought the truck but said it could be $500 to $1,000 more than what they would normally sell it for. They don't have to follow the prices on the Toyota website, they can sell for more or less so shopping around is advisable.

because whether you get it right before the 3yr/36m or 1 month in, you still pay for the 3yr/36m time frame. a 5yr will still only have 2 yrs of actual coverage since it will go by the in service date of the vehicle for calculation of the duration/mileage.

and a 10yr/100k will actually only be 7yrs and up to 100k miles from the date you bought it.

the only warranty toyota sells that starts at when you buy the vehicle mileage/year is a used toyota vsa, but you have to buy that at time of sale, you dont get a 3yr/36m buffer to buy it.

Don't you mean the 10yr/100k is actually 7yr up to 100K beginning after the 3yr/36K oem expires (all based on initial date of service use)?

I bought the 10yr. 100k. Yeah it overlaps factory, but now I'll have a full bumper to bumper with 0 Deductible for 10yr. 100k. For the price paid, it's well worth it in my opinion. Piece of mind & no worry.

right now we are trying to figure out of tundra will come out with a better blue shade than blueprint. right now it doesn't look like it, so will probably drop the money on extended warranty next summer before we hit the 36 months mark. not worried about mileage (we are only at 11,105 right now after 18 months)

Purchased my 10 year/100k mile warranty from Jerry Johnson. 100% will be buying any future warranties from him again. Can't recommend him enough. Give him a call as he's very responsive! - John

Can you purchase an extended warranty on a 22 TRD with 38k miles or do you need to lock in before the factory 36k? Welcome feedback. Thanks.
