This thread helped me remember to inquire to the group about the fender flares on my 22 Limited. They are color matched, should they have been or did someone have them done? I was thinking they were black on Limited's.

I'm not a fan of the chrome door handles, Tundra and Limited on the sides and am contemplating going black with them. Oh yeah, the Toyota emblem on the grille also. Oh, TUNDRA on the tailgate has chrome letters, would that have also been done by previous owner?

Thanks in advance for your input,
    Mike

All Limited’s (except the off road) come with the slightly lighter grey paint on the flairs than the 3G1 paint code. The grey paint on the standard Limited grill is a shade or two darker than the flairs but pretty close.

Toyota / Lexus Certified Collision & Paint shop was $700 and includes lifetime warranty against the paint peeling, cracking, fading, etc. Other local shops quoted me $550-$600, but did not hold the lifetime warranty on paint. The fender flares are plastic and the possibility that the paint peels or cracks is definitely there. I had an SR5 grill on my last Tundra color matched. Looked great for 3 years and then the paint started to bubble, eventually peeling on the top section.

In comparison, if you buy a complete set of fender flares color matched from paintedOEMparts the cost is $1219.

Thanks. It's a bit pricey but still a lot cheaper than buying the complete color matched set. I guess if somebody decides to color match parts it's a good idea to get lifetime warranty for a $100 more.

Definitely. It was an easy decision since my last Tundra grill bubbled and peeled after a few years.
