Yeah, my low fuel light bulb stopped working about the time I did the led bulb swap in the dash. I didn’t change it out either.

I tried to set the cruise on 70 MPH, but heavy traffic made it impossible to use for any length of time. I ran above and below 70 most of the way home. Now, going to the destination, I left at 5:15 AM and was able to set the cruise on 70 for over half the trip. It was so wonderful that I may start traveling at that time of day on future trips.

The LFL was one of the ones we were supposed to leave as incandescent and I did, but it still didn't turn on for me after I replaced the bulb.

Mine either. I wonder if there’s a specific bulb type

I bought several vacuum lines to replace what I'm sure were the originals. After 23 yrs in the desert they were pretty hard. Toyota sure is proud of them, too. That shits pricey.

I feel like about the time I hit 200 miles I'm right at a quarter tank. I usually have one or two round trips with a trailer mixed in with that though. I've never even given my low fuel light a chance to come on. I fill up when it gets pretty much at the 1/4 tank line. How you all are getting 400 miles out of a tank is crazy.

I'm with you. Maybe, maybe 350 at best before lift/33s.

Still better than the Vic. My last tank I filled up at 1/8th of a tank. 168 miles on the trip meter. I think I calculated it at 10.5 mpg.

    I’m around 280 miles at a 1/4 tank remaining.

Yup. Looking at my gas logging app, I avg about 240 between fill-ups, most I've ever gotten is 333 on a tank, going back to 2019 when I started logging. That was a few thousand miles into getting the truck.

Yeah if I push it I get to 350. The best I do is about 15.6 mpg. But I always have a bed full of 300 or 400 pounds on those road trips. After the 33's, well see...

You'll lose 1mpg or more on added tire size/rotational weight alone, and lose another 1mp or more on odometer inaccuracy unless you yellowbox your truck. Expect lesser braking experience slowing down the extra rolling mass, and don't expect the cruise to work in even slightly hilly interstate stretches. It's markedly better for me after dropping from 285/70r17 down to to 275 with virtually no detectable visual appearance change. but still notice it.

Fortunately for your 2004, yellowbox is a plug-and-play no-splice experience.

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
I've yet to break/see 250. Fillups around 1/8 tank. I always forget to add 3.7% for my 265s, but I have yet to break into 12mpg. Thirsty girl.

Sometimes I see these numbers from other people on here saying they get 17mpg-18mpg on their V8/4WD and I'm .... like, "wtf? what kinda driving are you doing?" and I'm wondering if their odometer is broke, or maybe they failed math. At first I thought it was a year thing, like maybe the earlier years were more efficient than my VVTi era truck.

I get it, a great deal of my driving is stop-and-go and that kills mpg. When I do straight-up internet driving at 80mph for long distances exclusively, I can usually break into the 15s, once or maybe twice over the years hit the 16s. But I'll never hit 18mpg. I can hold the pedal at 65mph, which watching the MPG specs on my OBD tool seems to be the sweet spot for mpg, I'll still never get close to 18mpg.

If I don't get stuck at any lights on my 15 miles commute, I can get up to 16.5mpg in the gordita. The racetruck can do up to 19.8mpg.
On open highway the gordita gets like 12-15mpg, depends on how hilly and how fast. The racetruck typically gets between 17-19. Best I've ever gotten was 19.8 on the way to work and again on the way to visit the SATX crew. I suspect a lot of that is due to less wind resistance since I lowered it 2/4 and have a bed cover.

I started the CB radio installation. Mounted the antenna. Had to go with a shorter one as the the taller one didn't clear the garage door opening.

I accidentally discovered the sweet spot for our 2009 Lexus RX350. We were driving 60 MPH on the interstate waiting for friends to catch up. I looked down at the built-in trip computer and it was showing 30 MPG for the 3.5L V6! Holy smokes! My wife will not let me drive that slow, though. :)

Anything around 55-60mph will be the most efficient. Especially if the transmission gets into the tallest OD gear. Over 60mph and wind resistance starts to compound.

I calculate the diameter difference between stock tires and the ones I'm currently wearing and get a diameter difference calculated in percentage. https://www.calculator.net/tire-size-calculator.html
But we have to know what size tires it came with from the factory. I think my 2004 RCLB came with taller tires than my 2006 RCLB because it has the tow package. Another thing I like to do is drive the interstate and watch for mile markers, then push the tripometer.
If we don't figure in the fact that we're going farther than the odometer admits, we think we're getting worse mileage than we really are.
Does anyone know what tires they came with new? I'm pretty sure my base model 2006 came with 245/70R16 and I'm guessing my 2004 with tow package must have come with 245/75R16.

I once broke 300, using premium non-ethanol, all highway. I think I got 17.something mpg that tank.

It's just a hunch, but I think the fact that I sold my Tacoma with 330,000 miles and the original fuel pump is because I very, very rarely let it get below 1/4 tank. Like maybe 5 times. Gas is what cools the pump, and at least what I've been told is that once you drop below 1/4 tank, the pump is getting exposed and gas can't cool it. No idea if it's true.

The sticker on your door jam typically has the factory tire specs. At least on my other Toyotas it has. Haven't looked on my tundra.

I usually just reset the trip computer when I fill up, but I should probably start using an app and calculating the difference for my odometer with the 34's I have. When I bought the truck it had a pedal commander installed, and on any of the increased throttle response settings cruise control was completely unusable.

Yup, gotta run 93. Kinda sucks since there's only 1 station with 4 locations that have 93, minus the race gas place. I need to start carrying octane booster in the trunk JIC.
